@ Arjen;
Could you please email me.(I can't yet -not enough posts)
Got a small question about the FVP5.
And you built one, I read somewhere here.

Glad to see such a rating for parts so cheap..$1.28No.1 NJW0302/0281 ON 8.5-9.5
Tough little trannies ..try to smash

They fry nicely too

thermoplastic doesn't smoke much..😀

I ordered about 5-6 of them and i tested on the bench and they are fairly linear.
i measured a sustained beta of 100 from 20ma to 8A!

Bit late to the party(!) Yes, these "sustained-beta" devices have been covered in recent editions of various books on amp design. There are even better devices now too I think I read somewhere. You still have to worry about secondary breakdown, those 8+ linear amps may not all be usable in a high rail-voltage amp.Wow! 100hfe at 8A !!!
I think that’s what I am struggling with in one kit. Got 4 pair of these and I can’t make them current share unless all are hfe matched to 1% and vbe matched to 2%. Outs a pain....

Value of degeneration resistors is?
I have less than 10% difference across 12 devices (6 per side). Degeneration cannot be stressed enough.
The value of mine are 0.33 Ohms and about $0.40 a pop 😉

I meant opportunity cost... damping goes down... although I can't say I can hear a difference unless its a huge difference
Value of degeneration resistors is?
currently 0.25Ohms. I degenerated one of the troublesome ones to 0.47 but it is still hogging current. 35mA vs 25mA
