Nice BJT to FET "conversion". Are you planning to build this amplifier? The only thing i dont like about this 2 stage amplifiers is the low OL Gain. I dont say they are bad, its just my feeling.
Maybe it is possible to replace R5 with a current source so you can get the maximum gain out of the first stage.

this is effectively the "ultra-linear pair" I talked about in another thread, with an Aleph-styled CCS load.
If you really like it, you should take a look at the PLH. Much simpler and affords you a lot of flexibility.

it works sames to JLH mos version(or PLH)...but it is class-a opertions.so it sounds more lovly I think!

All signals, which will be bellow cca 46 dB from full level, will be not hearable, 'cos will be bellow distortion... It's not " heaven"...😉

Winco, I had build many Mosfet amps, but they was not so simply...It is superstition, that only simply amp sound good. Send me a mail, I will send you some example... 😉

Nice design, I like it, especially output stage realisation.
Upupa's design are also nice, but more sophisticated, using feedback and error correction with nice symmetry (all damn good made), but this is another world indeed.

Winco, these " many transistors " are only cheapest ones, so price will be not much higher. And is free, if you solder thirty devices or fifry devices ( if you know it... 😉 ). All is only about comprehension function of little bit complicated circuit... 😉
And I recoment to read patent of Halcro - explanation of Bruce Candy about " comlicated circuits " there is very nice...

so afraid I get, when see some 'modern advanced, complexity' amplifiers ....
And in my stomach, my belly, I feel so sick
... like when drinking too much and want to put and spit some old food into the ground,
when I see some 'super amplifier' circuits ...
