I just got a fairly big shipment of custom made transformers in from Monolith over the week-end. These are for a small run of my latest line stage design. They are very nicely finished, performance is as yet an unknown, but knowing the care that went into their design I suspect they will be very good.

So is it typical for a shipment to be held up in customs for 5 days? Only information I get from the tracking info is "Retained at customs : reason unknown"

Yes, it's normal, and your shipment should be released in a week or so. No way to find out as far as I know.
Has anybody received a delivery from Monolith lately? I put in an order, was told twice along the way that everything I ordered was in stock and will be shipped within 5 business days and that I will receive tracking information.
Before money was wired response to emails was immediate. Weeks have passed, no package, no tracking information, no response to Emails. I'll give them a call on Monday, but still was wondering if this is a pattern.

Not at all in my experience, and I've bought a lot of stuff from them over the past few years. It is vacation time in Belgium which may be complicating things.

Last order in Jan 2021 received. Custom orders can take longer than promised. Quality is top nevertheless.

Not as of today, at least. I think most people's furlough ended around the eighth.
I received fantastic service from them! Shipped within 7 days and the shipping took about the same to the USA. Took a few days to clear customs. Total time from order to opening the box was about 3 weeks. Very happy with them. Prompt help via email to a couple of questions I had.
