It's not for the value, just the big Mundorf have the lowest ESR (6mohms).
Thanks, at what minimum uF in the AG line does that ESR fall, is it the 33000?
EDIT: Also are you using ALPS or a stepped Attenuator, or just the original volume pot?
Good news on the new T3. Any plan for changes to the TA3020, or are you going to run a new batch of the old design?
What changes are urgently needed on the TA3020 ? I own one from hifimediy but still not had the time to check it up. Also it needs two heatsinks for the mos-fets.
BTW: there is an extra thread existing for T2 and T4 mods. IMHO the process of this thread has sometimes nothing to do with the origin title. We discuss here a mix of T1,T2,T3,T4 ... I think it's a bit difficult to keep the overview

agreed, have T1 and would like "own" thread.😀
t3 humm
I received my T3 set some 2 weeks ago. I used one S-350-48 power supply and was disappointed with the humm. I would not call it "light noise", the humm is much too loud not to be noticed, it makes the amp unusable for me. Too bad that both boards apparently need their own power supply.

In my test, 2x T3 can work under 1 SMPS with very light noise. If your T3 still have the bead(B1) on board, I suggest replace it with a wire short. also I suggest remove c10 on the bottom side.
By the way, I actually have new board on the way, it's called T3_V2, which is stereo version of T3, and the board build the PSU and protection circuit in. So it's big board 175*122mm😀 I will post it when I get the PCB.

I believe that if you do the modifications proposed, then the hum can be fixed. More info here at 41Hz: 1 Power Supply, 2 Amps. Possible?
These T1/T2 boards on hifimediy's website - they say they take DC, say between 24V-39V. Is this center-tapped (+/- 24V-39V) or 0V and 24-39V?
single voltage. its 30V max, except for T1-510 which can take +39Vdc.These T1/T2 boards on hifimediy's website - they say they take DC, say between 24V-39V. Is this center-tapped (+/- 24V-39V) or 0V and 24-39V?
many people use the hole marked GND next to power terminal.Hi,
Does the T2 have a point to connection with chassis ground?
edit: oops, did not see Yubing response. 😉
I am looking for an amp to drive 8ohm 110dB sensitive CD with horn for my HT.
Reading the last part of this thread plus some other sites it looks like these amps would be quiet enough to do it.
Coupling caps on the output will be used.
What version should I choose? I plan on powering it with a 24V SMPS.
Sitting 2m from the speakers I doubt I will be needing any serious power so I have been looking at the T1.
Also how low voltage can the T4 take when transformer powered?

hi David_Web.
24V power supply, T1 or T2 are both ok. T4 has 48V relays on board so it's not ok when 24V(about 36V minimum).

Are you planning anything new (features/upgrades) with the upcoming T3_V2 board? im holding out for this one! but man.. im gonna have to build bigger mains..
oh and there's one other thing missing from your lineup... a North American distributor!

Been thinking a long time about trying out a tripath amp. About ready to go with the T3 but needing two power supplies is less than ideal...and T3 is sold out. Here are some questions:
- I see that hifimediy will now be distributing the connexelectronic power supplies. Wondering if the dual rail capability of the SMPS300R would offer a solution to the hum issues of using a single PSU with dual mono T3?
- Are there going to be more T3 available? If so, when?
- Is there going to be a stereo T3? If so, when and what is the projected price point?
nice development! connex smps + hifidiyme Tamp = good marriage
Hi! didn't realise you were in singapore as well! Have u thought of using a tube pre with ur t4?
