NEW PCB: Active loaded triode High Z 9AJ voltage amp.

I don't think there is something lost in translation, it is just the art to describe in words. I am sure many that read this will see exactly what I mean.

Just read every sentence and draw the lines. Don't think of details like shorts. Do it analog on paper with pencil if you like. I am sure you will have a laugh when you are done.

Nope... J'men Câlice for analog (drawing). Analog is only good for AF now IMFO You have more knowledge I'm sure - that's one of the reasons why you know the circuit you linked for 5V would work at 12V. Shorter delay but nothing blew up. You hopefully saw the stand alone circuit I derived from your suggestion.

BTW this is why I don't handwrite things...

Simpler. Look at the drawing and call the inputs outputs and vice versa.

Simplest: the engineer orders you to change the 3 pin input connector to a PCB mount RCA output connector set.... What would you do?

The art of reading, I told not to look at shorts. Just look at the current function of connectors and how some parts are placed. It is contrary to a logical choice.

The design has INPUT caps almost against OUTPUT connector(s). It also has OUTPUT caps mounted almost against the INPUT connector.... The OUTPUT muting relay is situated at the input area...

Forget about the PCB tracks, those can be changed. Just see the connections to the outside world. Any person having layed out PCB's with tape or pen will see what I mean in a millisecond.

If you have the track layers omitted and see just the parts, connectors and the blue lines I drew you will notice.

Glad to report now that the zener diodes are stood off of the board, it's been up and running 24 hours/day since I replaced them and all is well.

The cover showed up, too. Now I'm just waiting for transformer covers and I'll be able to give it (The Little Miracle) to my dad for his 75th birthday 🙂
