What are the current ratings of them?
I'd agree with you there they are extremely well rounded for a cap. I find the BG N's I have in now alot like them. It's got that extra warmth, fairly holographic too, but the SAL seems to be a step up in accuracy.

Yes I know of the data sheet thank you though. The question was more geared towards "are you still using a 6.3V cap, or a 10V or 25V one.
Hi,
2 minute fix this morning. Borrowed a resistor from somewhere, I think the purpose of the one I swapped being off in value by an order of magnitude was to increase RF on that channel tenfold.
An immediate and boldly obvious improvement of soundstage, imaging/ uniformity... it's like that commercial where a hot girl walks through an office in a skin tight outfit, then gets into the elevator and lets her gut out and it just flops. That's what the width of the soundstage just did, opened up and and "aaaaaawww" relaxed. The stereo image is flying circles around my head now.
Next stop, post filter feedback.
Anyone else ready with a review or... 😉
It only now becomes interesting for when I next plug in the UCD. Exactly how I wanted it before trying post filter feedback. It seems interesting to me that the post filter feedback ground return seems to have an extremely long return loop, one wonders of the additional stray inductance.
Regards,
Chris

Yes i am going to do a high end version with a big heavy transformer, optimized cables etc. Then we will do a new comparison after the summer holidays.
Did you ever get to do this comparison?

Hi Chris
absolutely ... ready and waiting

thanks

It is getting quiet in here, I just looked at the newclassD website and I think I have an idea why: Lars just hired a female coworker (picture shown on the website) and to be honest, I can't blame him for being distracted really 😀

Hey Lars,
Have you sent out any modules to the early adopters yet - I cant hardly wait until I can see more impressions.
I lookad at NewClassD:s homepage and the introduction offers is still there... 😕

Snatch it!
Matsen: Yes, we have sent out a few modules to pre-orders, and we are now in process of completing all the pre-orders.
But as you know we also attended the Copenhagen exposition this weekend. Which by the way was a very successfull exposition with many positive visitors. And once we got some broken-in speakers setup, the sound started to be very good too. We had a complete set for people to look at on display, but somehow people didn't care about that, they wanted to look at the one that was playing 🙂 (That's why we took the top off as you can see).
Now the exposition is over, and we are back to producing the pre-orders again. I think within the week we can complete all the preorders, so very soon, many people will own a NewClassD amplifier. 🙂
The introduction sets are still going to be available until the end of 2006, so you can still get them. Maybe you were thinking about the preorder sets.

What does "Risc Controller keeps each amplifier under full Software Control." mean?
Is that an oboard controller? pic? whats it used for....timing?
Nice module!

As I'm still under moderation, I can't delete my posts. A quick surf on the newclassd website answered my question.
http://www.newclassd.com/index.php?page=10
"...Atmel AVR ATtiny13-20....programmed in C....snapshot of all power supply Voltages is stored in memory..." SWEET!! 🙂
A word to newclassd, in the grey box that lists cpu functionality, the word
"snapsnot" should probably read "snapshot"
What embedded OS are they using....ecos/uclinux?

Lars, I was thinking about the preorder sets but I cant see no difference compared to the Introductions sets... 😕
Do you have more photos from the unit that you were using on the Copenhagen exposition?

Matsen: It was identical to the one Chris received, pics are to be found previously in this thread.
rmsaudio: Thank You for the tip! 🙂

It's marketing. Lars has learnt from japanese marketing people 🙂rmsaudio said:What does "Risc Controller keeps each amplifier under full Software Control." mean?
Compare Audiocom and the Invisus super regulator
(= lowpass filter)self noise cancelling system
A low pass filter does not cancel noise. Merely filters it out at high frequencies, and let it through at low frequencies. Better to use a low noise reference.
About the amplifier we used at the expo, someone else took a good picture of it, and posted it here: http://www.harley-hansen.dk/hifi06/CIMG2528hifi.JPG

nice pic... but what does the little board on the upper left corner do? Softstart?
Same question.
Is the Volume motor driver? What's that hunk of metal behind it?
