Those of you who read Bob Cordell's review of the new LTspice IV manual know how enthusiast he is. If you didn't read it yet, here it is Bob Cordell's review.
I was so impressed I decided to make it available for Linear Audio readers as well.
Note that there is a German language version as well as an English version!
Enjoy!

I can only add, that I own this book for about 1 year now, and I gained knowledge for 2 years 🙂
Seriously, get it! it's good.
Dear friends,
I need to make room for the new Linear Audio in September (11th issue!).
So, if you joined Linear Audio halfway through, you can get the first 6 issues to round out your collection (volume 0 through volume 5) for € 99 and free shipping. Saves you at least € 50, probably more.

Well, it's that time of the year again. Done vacationing, now getting serious about audio again.
With the new Linear Audio Vol 10! (One more and it'll be an even dozen!).
This is an issue that looks at the resurgence of vinyl from different perspectives - like only Linear Audio's authors can:
Editorial
Your Editor muses why, despite the technical shortcomings, many seem to re-discover The pleasure of playing vinyl; while AudioXpress’s João Martins notes We're Just Starting with Digital .. and its challenges for high-end audio.
Tutorials
Hannes Allmaier explains all about The Ins and Outs of turntable dynamics - and how they mess up your vinyl playback. Hans Polak builds on earlier work by Muncy and Whitlock in Pin 1 revisited, adding OEO to an accepted rule. Not satisfied with designing some of the best analog phono pres in the world, Scott Wurcer applied himself to Record replay RIAA correction in the digital domain, complementing his article with extensive online support.
Circuit design
Jacques Exbrayat has single transistor handling the audio, relegating voltage and current settings to the periphery and ended up with A minimal structure high-performance voltage follower / amplifier. Mark Johnson extensively researched transformer and rectifier ringing and found that Soft Recovery Diodes Lower Transformer Ringing by 10-20X. Merlin Blencowe got to the bottom of Partition Noise and the ‘BestPentode’ Revisited. After a series of Experiments in Low Voltage Tube Audio Amplifier Circuits, Ronald Quan came up with high performance tube circuits running off 45 V ‘high voltage’.
Loudspeaker design
Tomasz Nowak won the AES Student Design Competition, Graduate category, with his Tapped horn subwoofer system.
Perception
Mike Uwins researched another angle of the Analogue Hearts, Digital Minds dichotomy and found there’s more to vinyl than meets the ear.
The Way I see it…
Stan Curtis reviews power supply issues and finds that Sometimes power does not corrupt…
Book reviews
Gary Galo reviewed a pair of cultural sociologists’ take on Vinyl – The Analog Record in a Digital Age and at times found the going rough; Morgan Jones reviewed Grounding and Shielding, Circuits and Interference finding it a mixed bag.
Enjoy!

Still no discount code anymore? Or did I miss it? 😀
Thanks again for another issue, Jan. This will be a welcome change to planning my new house (which unfortunately won't be as audio-optimized as I wished for, but that's WAF...).

If you tell me your email that you used to register I can reset the password to get you up again.
You can register again but that means you get two emails twice a year ;-)

Hi Jan,
I ordered two mags a few days ago ( including Vol9). If it hasn't shipped yet I'd like to add Vol10 ! I noticed there is no DIYA discount anymore. But if expenses are mounting I'd understand that.
Or should I go ahead ordering Vol 10 separately ? I was trying to save on shipping !
Thanks,
Ashok.
Just got back from Singapore. Found many CD shops FULL of vinyl !

Oh...I goofed up. I just checked the status. It's shipped already !. Sorry about that.
Cheers,
Ashok.
Cheers,

I ordered the first-six-issues deal and got them last month or so, but incredibly I haven't started reading them, only spent a few minutes paging through them. I have so much other stuff to do ... maybe by the time I read these you'll offer a discount on the more recent issues!
I have all of the old Audio Amateur and Speaker Builder issues as well (I recall making two big back-issue orders, around 1997 and 2000), and many other of the more recent ones, and have pretty much read through them all. If only I had spent as much time DIYing as I've done reading...

so much focus on vinyl....why is that?
Well, everybody is talking about the resurgence of vinyl and that this should prove that vinyl is somehow a 'better' medium than anything else. Maybe it is, maybe there's something else going on?
I asked several authors about their views, and even found someone who had done a real controlled test on the audible differences - and preferences! - between vinyl and digital. Results of which are a great source of info for anyone interested in these issues!
But Volume 10 still has solid state and tube design articles of course. Even a tapped horn subwoofer. 😉

Just finished posting a lot of test files to support Scott Wurcer's digital RIAA article here: Downloads | Linear Audio
The post also has the complete collection of the coefficient tables for anyone who wants to experiment with digital RIAA on your miniDSP, so you can just cut-'n-paste rather than typing it all up... Note that one of the tables was missing from the printed issue, apologies Scott!

I have completed posting all complementing files for Scott Wurcer's digital RIAA article, including the python function library and examples and function lists: Downloads | Linear Audio
Also at the end you'll find two .zip files with all the material, in case you want to download the whole shebang.
Have fun, and many thanks to Scott for a very complete treatise of these fascinating technical issues.

It would be nice to see technical articles about designing a class d amp, dsp, and wireless audio like bluetooth airplay etc and even a step by step guide on how to design your own speakers...
Or/also an extensive articles series with complete amplifier/PSU layout/decoupling methods (including for class D designs). Most DIYers make mistakes in that area (including me, sometimes) and blame topology or components.

Good idea too!
Also about switching psu. Maybe it's time mr Putzeys writes his third article....! Hehehe!
I think we need more articles about newer technologies as much as we need for previous.
But the balance between the two so far is....well not balanced at all.

Thank You the oversight was mine. I've tried the miniDSP with both the single and dual bi-quad filters and the results were quite pleasing.
