I am considering buying either a Viewtech vt501 or Tatung lcd here in paraguay. They seem to have great specs. My question is since no one has confirmed they are stripable what are my risks of not being able to extend the ribbon cable if so required? I only need them for a custom box not OHP. I am also willing to pay a monitor repair guy to extend it. I should mention that once I buy it I cannot return it and get my money back. Things are different here. Having said all this should I go for a monitor that has great specs like DVI, 500:1 , 25 ms response ?
What would you do?

I bought a NEW Samsung SyncMaster 150N for $114 and was wondering if anyone here took it apart? Its not in the list of the "usable lcd/monitor mods" so i guess i dont need to expect much from it. I just couldnt resist not buying it...the price is just great and the specs arent bad either.

I have some strange models here in Argentina.

Hello everybody.
I know that the post is quite old but I have to know if the LG 566LE is good to make a DIY projector.
Can we take apart the screen on a side and the rest on the other ?
DRACUL didn't have any answer to his question in july 2003...

Thanks a lot.
no answer yet.
The only side you need to take apart the side where the light would shine through. The other side that you see when you buy the monitor has nothing other then Anti-glare film if you want to remove that.
