I ordered boards for the last version i posted, if anyone is interested i have three pairs that are surplus to my needs. €10 per pair ex postage. ROHS-ENIG boards in matte black.
I recieved the boards today, they came out beautiful.

Im not done yet, im thinking of yet another version, this one is to have an ideal bridge with the LT4320 to limit dissipation in the rectification chain.
And im thinking MIC5156 plus a linear fet to regulate the voltage before it hits the constant current source regulator.
This version should be able to provide 10V 10A from a 12V 16+A transformer for 833's. Or other tubes that use considerable heater current.
Noise should be below 100uV at 10A for the regulator.
Now the only consideration is wether or not to make a complete module with all the electronics, a module like this would measure 120x200mm and 60mm deep. including the capacitor bank.

Im ready to resume work on the design, does anyone have a good suggestion for a 0.5K/W heatsink?
very nice,
Ive upgraded the schematic beyond what is written here, if you want some pointers, feel free to PM
also i used another opamp, one that can drive capacitive loads, not NE5532

Ok, here it goes, most of my regulators now use a buffer LH0002 or LT1010 between the opamp and the mosfet, as i have found that sometimes with very long wires (+2m) oscillation can occur.
Also ive changed the setup to separate the rectifier and filter capacitors and rectifiers as to minimize noise.
Attached you will find the schematic for the latest version of the regulator, it measures 78x50mm and thus is quite compact.
Ive added RC filtering for the opamp and driver, changed the sense resistors to to220 thick film and made it a mix of Trough hole and SMD.
If you need i have four boards for these remaining.

super thank you
the lh0002 is an obsolete component I think?
and its price on ebay is crazy !!!
can we use Ha-5002 or buf634?
the diodes of the BA.....?
T1 remains the same? the detail is important to me and I would like all my red pcbs 🙂
thank you for your interest

Yes its an obselete component, but i havent had any fakes arrive yet, and its quite easy to check if they are genuine cause of the internal resistors you can measure. I just get them from China 15 bucks for 10pc
Diodes are 1n4148 or equivalent.
The LH0002 is just four transistors four resistors. you can make it out of discretes.
HA-5002 is overkill,

- Amplifiers
- Tubes / Valves
- New DHT heater, any need for a 10A+ version?
