new Beyma 6.5" coaxial

Hello all!

There is a new small Beyma coaxial that aims more at wide frequency range than on high sensitivity and so is suitable for compact hifi solutions.
http://profesional.beyma.com/ingles/pdf/6CX200Nd_tec.pdf
The 65 Hz Fs and the strong motor seemed to be ideal for a ML-pipe, so I did a simulation with an old MJK sheet. Cross-section over the whole length was 2xSd, length 132 cm (quarter wavelength of Fs), port dimensions didn´t seem so critical.
Looks like a true fullrange solution, and that with a high-WAF slim coloumn.
Opinions?

I've made a pair of prototypes:

Retail price is 220 EURO.

Sound is excellent. Amazing low end respons. It's a bit tricky to get flat and smooth sounding. But Beyma's original curve's are pretty fair.

Highly recommended :umbrella:

I'd be more interested in seeing the curves without the EQ, and without a brickwall digital filter....

Are there any information about how you get that bas response out of that driver.
Transmission-line, vented or … ?

Cabinet info, please. 🙂

Manger

Sorry for the OT:, but...

Charles, I hope you haven't given up on the Manger! If so - why? (Have several drivers that have good low-end response extending up to 500 Hz. or even 1kHz., so if it's the low/mid response of the Manger - I can simply cross at 200 - 500 Hz., using steep linear-phase slopes).

much thanks,
-Tal

I recently started using its larger brother the 8cx300nd and I can assure that it sounds very fine after some equing.

Regards

Charles

I'm highly interested in building a pair of these to me! Could you please share the details of how many liters the enclosure has and the dimensions of the air duct? Thanks buddy! 😉
