New 12" Full-Range: Fane 12-250TC

I built the loudspeaker enclosures according to this plan:

The construction is described from post 325:

Are these yours? Love them, might copy some of it when I some day will build a new cab for mine.

Yes, these are mine. This was my first attempt to build a case that was treated with hard oil. The enclosures have the advantage of being closed or bass reflex or vented with aperiodic valves. There are interchangeable plates in the base. These plates can be designed as a sealed cover or with holes for pipes or valves. Well camouflaged.

No. I did buy some measuring equipment years ago, but I don't think I got any reasonable results from my measurement tests. That's why I rely on my hearing. I think it sounds a bit more balanced, but it's also possible that it didn't help. I just felt like doing something.

Sorry for my bad English, I use a translator.

that means there as some resonance, although the metal frame "suppose" not to RESONATE but most of them do
and that cause the diference you hear

if you have the means
can you do a REW sweep before an after ?

to see exactly where the peaks of the resonance were

anyway if you like it, you like it 😀

definitely there is reflection from the basket through the cone.

And this damping is audible

If damped it makes a big difference in sound. Maybe not so easy to measure as it is a broadband reflection and less loud than the directly emanated sound

it comes close to signal to noise ratio in electronics
