Unless anyone objects with a better idea, this will be the final layout

You may want to experiment with which input you use on the PA amp. The TEL input may be band limited, intended only for paging and not for the combination of paging and bgm. I’m sure it would work in any case, but you may end up with a 300-3k response. It may have full response bandwidth, but there is good reason to limit it if you did use that for a telephone paging input (bypassing the paging controller). If you use one of the regular line ins, it won’t be subject to that limitation. The paging unit can according to the manual drive pretty much any reasonable load, even a long line, if the two units were not co-located.

The output chosen by bnyus is labelled 'PAGE & MUSIC' and is therefore intended for the combination of paging and bgm (background music).

It is probable that the frequency response of the power amp is adequate for the warehouse application.

Let's wait to see what happens when the pager is wired up to the power amp. If unsatisfactory, wg_ski, do you suggest using one of the Hi-Z RCA inputs on the power amp?

The frequency response of the amp is probably in the neighborhood of 60-15k. But the paging.(TEL) input may intentionally limit to much less. Try it and see - the worst thing that happens is it sounds like a pocket transistor radio. If it does, hook it to the RCA and all is well.

Thanks wg_ski. It took me a few minutes to remember from past experience that frequency limiting is applied to PA systems which use speakers such as Tannoy horns.

Your additional post sums up the situation well.

Thanks, that's good to know about the frequency.
We're planning to do the wiring some time next week.
I'll let everyone know how it turned out.

I want to thank everyone in this thread for all the help and info that they provided.
I'm certain I'd never reach this far by myself.

Thank you.

Hey everyone. Came to post an update.

Thanks again for all the extra info.
It came in handy after all.

My two PA amps seem not not be giving any output from the voltage ports in the back. My electrician said something about the "filters inside" needed cleaning. Wasn't sure but in the end i figured a work around without using the amps and not having to wait for his "friend" to fix em up at unknown cost.

Long story short. the receiver is powering the speakers just fine.
Plugging the paging box to the mic port provides perfect clarity in both music and voice announcements. I barely have the mic volume dial at 2.5/10 and it's more than loud to be heard just fine. I had originally tried using the aux input to connect the pager to the receiver but the volume even pushing the dial at max was barely enough to hear when the forklifts were running. I didn't feel comfortable having the volume dial to max so i used the MIC input and it amplified the volume more than enough to not have to worry anymore.

I feel that the set up is complete as the way i want it to function with all 5 speakers working great doing double duty of music/announcements.

As an extra though, I'm considering of adding a stereo jack using a long extension from the warehouse that will run to the aux input on the pager (about 200ft wire length). That way I or another employee can hook up a phone or another music device from there. I don't really want anyone entering the location i have the receiver/radio since it also serves as our server room with lots of sensitive and expensive equipment. We keep that room locked and it will be a hassle to go in there everyday to turn the music on/off.

Would that be a good idea to run it that long and would it even work?

My worst case alternative is to run a short extension to a place outside that locked room.

Regardless, the setup works and i wouldn't have made it without everyone here.
Thank you again.

Thanks for the update. The simplest solution is often the most effective one!

If we are talking about an ordinary RCA screened cable, your 'worst case alternative' would be the better option in order to minimise hum and RF interference pick up.

However, it will do no harm to the system to try the longer length and you can always shorten it if necessary!
