I still think that using the inevitable speaker cable as an output inductor IS a clever practice - at least much better than taming an "overshooting" amp with a high capacity cable to make it sound good...

anybody has the nait2 (CD version) schematics?
my nait2 is noisy which can be heard (in both speakers) only when the source is silent (the noise is a kind of sporadic friction/rubbing noise)... any ideas about what I should look for, the PSU Caps?

Your amp probably has dying caps - not necessary in the psu but in the interstage coupling. As all these caps are DC biased a slight leak can cause that problems.
But all faults can be found in the usual way, your NAIT still follows schematics comparable to the one shown in this thread.

Recapping of Naim Nait2

For recapping fans of Naim Nait2 I´ve made a scheme of the pcb showing the capacitors and actually measured voltages. The last recapping of the NN2 was 10 years ago.
For the next recapping I plan to install 2 caps 6800µF/40V and 1 cap
3300mF/63V instead of 25V-types. The operating voltage is already 24V!
