I wouldn't expect commercial drones on the US airbase in Ramstein, Rheinmetall or BASF, nor near the US military locations in NJ.😉
Smugglers wouldn’t have their transport vehicles attracting attention by needlessly lighting them up like Christmas trees, and reportedly hovering at low altitude for as long as two hours.
Most likely reconnaissance drones operated by an unfriendly third party, most likely, but not necessarily foreign. Apparently they are fast.

Very good point. If some of the lit-up drones are just hobbyist fooling around it would provide excellent coverage for the more nefarious ones that stay dark and silent.
This could all be a mixture of various drones from a variety of sources and not just one entity.
In any case, we need to get to the bottom of it and find out if any foreign countries are involved. It would not surprise me if that, in fact, is the case.

When the public starts to get restless, create a distraction. Remember Y2K? My parents were convinced that the world would end on New Years Eve at midnight in 1999. So were a lot of other people. I went to stay with my parents that night to help convince them that we would still be around in the morning. When the population starts going crazy someone will produce "credible evidence" of an alien invasion. A crap load of drones is just the beginning.

Yes, I remember Y2K quite well and I never heard of anybody believing that the world would end at midnight in 1999. Quite to the contrary, it was a time for a vast celebration all around the world and hardly an example of a population going crazy on the world ending.
