A homepage is a good idea PA. I dont believe one exists anywhere anymore.
I will work on that as well.
Uriah
ps I have read your wiki page. It is very succinct.

Steve Dunlop has some transformers he may be interested in selling.
troystg suggested I check out this thread. I have hundreds (not sure exactly anymore) of 120V 50/60Hz primary 2 X 24V secondaries at 4A. That is 196VA for 50Hz or about 220Va at 60Hz.
These were purchased years ago for 50W amps that never got built. If you wonder why read my thread that troystg gave the link to. This was a very large quantity buy and at a good price. I will need to check on the brand. I bought from several suppliers. I will need to go back through invoices to find what I can sell them for. I will try to do that in the next couple of days, but please be patient. Once again, see my thread for explanation.
Steve
WIKI FOR KITs and extra boards is now UP.
I still have to input the extra boards but if you are on the list you can feel free to edit your information, like country, number of kits, number of boards.
We dont care if you want more kits for you and your buddies or if you want more boards. Thats fine and you can make those changes.
If you are not ALREADY in the group buy please consider it closed. There is a possibility of people backing out of boards or kits and to get rid of the extras we will post again here and tell how many are available.
Thanks guys for helping make this buy come together.
Uriah
ps IF you could all make sure your info is right that would be appreciated. If its wrong change it. If you are not sure how just email me and I will edit it for you.

I'm not sure I understand how this works. (I'm new around here..)
It sounds like:
"If you are on the list you can order as many extra kits and boards as you want- we have no upper limit on the total number of kits and boards. However if you happened along recently, you cannot have any kits or boards, even though nobody has paid for anything yet, ie made a firm committment to buy."
Do I have that right?
John
The total number of kits is not going to go up beyond the initial number. We don't intend to start a business... 🙂 We just wanted to get over the 100x hump for economic reasons.VictoriaGuy said:"If you are on the list you can order as many extra kits and boards as you want- we have no upper limit on the total number of kits and boards. toroids from Antek
I may have misunderstood the original poster.
Uriah and I will not include toroids in the group buy.
I thought the original poster suggested that we may be able to set up a "coupon" of a discount with Antek for individuals buying from Antek by virtue of steering traffic in their direction.

Did you see the post from Steve Dunlap?
He has some 200VA torids that he is checking on price for.
Would make for an outstanding monoblock...
This was the 100W monoblock he sold commercially before his illness:

Peter is not interested in a transformer group buy. With the amount of work he is doing I dont blame him one bit.
I on the other hand have time to spare many days and could make a trip to Antek or schedule a truck delivery of Steve Dunlap's transformers. I would love to work with Antek. They are good people. But I would much rather help a fellow DIYer like Steve to get rid of inventory that is eating a hole in his pocket.
I am waiting for Steve to get back with me once he finds his old invoices and have already started speaking with Antek.
Chances are probably about 70% I will do this GB for transformers. Let me finish talking to Steve and Antek.
I should put a post about looking for interest in a GB, but I will hold off on that til I hear from Steve otherwise people will want specifics and I wont have any.

These toroids were for 50W mono block amps or two in a stereo integrated amp. The transformers for the 100W amps were used before I closed shop. Hopefully I will have a price sometime tomorrow.

Thanks for the clarification, Peter.
Peter, Uriah, Russ and Brian-
Am I correct in the PCB size being:
Board size w/o heatsink (from earlier post):
4.115" from back of LM3886 to front, 3.27" wide,
2" high (2.5" incl. standoffs).
I got that off of a post on the Twisted Pair forum (Thanks guys for keeping the legacy product support up on the site!)

Mine is about 1.8" tall. Other than that your measurements are accurate. You might be about a tenth of an inch to long but for all intents and purposes you are right.

Peter and I will finalize on Thursday after he is back home and into the swing of things. Probably start taking payments on Friday and order boards at the same time.

schro20 said:Take a look at the first post in this thread. It's not perfect but is very close to what is actually on the board.
If someone has an updated schematic that corresponds precisely to the board, now that would be svelte.
peter
Is this the schematic for the board?

How is the 24V generated?
From the diagram, how is the 24V (which feeds the relay) generated from the AC? If the AC is 24V shouldn't the resultant voltage be 24*1.4?

Yes, that is why upping the trafo voltage too much is bad.
Well, seems easy to "fix": Clamp the relay voltage with a zener in parallel with C14 and increase the resistance of the 12V zener regulator to say 1.5K. The LM can take the 40V.
Another solution is to build a regulator with a LM723 with a high current pass transistor and regulate at 34V. Per spec, the LM723 is pretty low noise at 2 uV
