Layout XBOSOZ
I would like to learn from other people's experience on what layout they used for their X-BOSOZ. I am using the Darwin and Joshua tree from our friends Russ and Brian. I am going to use 2 Joshua trees to have L&R volume controls. What would you do different? What case did you use? Where did you put the power supplies? Where did you put the transformers? Any info is appreciated. Love to see some photos!

Re: Layout XBOSOZ
Here is the layout I plan on using the chassis is from an old power amp I gutted the transformers will be side by side up the middle. The power supply boards are towards the front. The JT relay boards are in the back I have all the boards build I have tested the power supply it works fine. I am in the middle of repainting the chassis should be done soon I hope if I have time this weekend I might test one channel.
I hope this helps

Dave

Hello Everyone
Well I hooked up one channel of my T-X-BOSOZ to test it and all I got was a HUM no music. I am using single end I shorted pins 3 and 1 of the XLR's on both input and output double checked my wiring. Power supply output is 74vdc and -24vdc any suggestions

Match Mosfet
I cant my x-bosoz to work, i think i can be beacuse i wasent carefull with the mosfets. I was thinking of bying new ones from a lockal seller but thet are not matched. How inportent is it that they are matched.
And how can you math them in a easy way.
Thanks.

Re: Match Mosfet
Its not really important at all for this circuit. I would not bother matching them.

This sounds like a dead FET, or possible a zener, or both.

Hi Russ
Is there a way to test the FET's to fine the ones that might be bad? What should be the voltage across the zeners? I get the same results with either channel.

Here is a good reference for testing semiconductors:
http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/semitest.htm#stmos
For the zeners just make sure they are still acting like diodes.
Thanks for the link Russ I will have to remove the FET's and test them
For the heck of it I put my meter across the Gate and the source on some I had voltage others did not I will get some more FET's

New fets 2
I change all the 5 fets on one board and i messured 10v at the in between in + and in ground, i have shorted between in - and in grd.
I not sow good at electronics but i now that 10v dc into a cd is not that good. But i wonder if somone have any ide way this can be.
Thanks in advande for any help.

Re: added capacitors under PSU boards ?
Ahhh those are actually 10K resistors. They are not really necessary. I used them when I was testing because I knew the PS would not be connected to anything a while and those resistors drain the caps.
You can use them if you like. I used 3W 10K.
Cheers!

My PSU boards are working, but should those be added and what kind of values ?
Or are they some experiments for better sound only ?

Is the http://www.twistedpearaudio.com/ site offline. I get some message " This page is parked free, courtesy of GoDaddy.com" page instead?
Twistedpearaudio -- Russ/Brain what is up?
Hi Russ/Brain:
To second the above (Ducks post)-- what is up with your page? Should I send some money via paypal marked " legal defense fund"? Did somebody (nelson??seems unlikely) lean on you for your brillant ideas on how use the THS4131?
I want twistedpearaudio.com back
!!!
Please let me (us?) know if you need 'help'.....

Given how Russ and Brian work, I would be very surprised if anyone had a problem with them. Twisted pear audio has to cost them out of pocket. I would gues it also takes a lot of time away from other projects and life. They do us a huge service.
Hi guys,
Nobody has ever given us any grief. 🙂
Thanks for the support.
The problem simply was I didn't receive the notice that the domain was about to expire because the notice was sent to an defunct email address. The problem has been resolved but it make take a day or two for DNS to get updated.
Sorry for the confusion...
Cheers!
