I have to add that when I started to encrease bias, the DC voltage on rails decreased almost by 3V.
My experience has been within different applications than Class A Amps, so the difference in opinions probably lies somewhere in our applications. I will concede that the venerable Mr. pass has slightly more expertise in this specific application of theory than I do. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Why do you say that my capacitors (40VDC -10 75% 60V surge 85°C) are insufficient to use for the power section if the maximum volt potential for all the Pass projects is less than 40V???

Thanks for the Victoria Magnetics lead

Nania,
They are of too low a voltage for the 3 senarios in my post. If you get a new transformer that will provide you will DC rails less then 40VDC, like the 150X, then those caps will be fine.
Enjoy,

Well, I don't dispute that you were dancing back then but it wasn't to disco. I think if you check the facts you'll see ...
it was disco!

Just like disco... 5 years later you try and make a comeback!!!! LOL
You will be amused to know that Barry was just down the street,
and did it so that SAE could cash in on the Class A craze sweeping
the late 70's. Not to say that it wasn't clever...
