hay brian, well i broke the 540 after repairing it, i now need to replace a diode then it shouldd be good to go again.

i'm using the 530 now and its ok but it looks like its running on 256 colours all the time, this is when its really running on 32bit, weird aye?

my lcd does not run on the computer psu its just the lamps well lamp at the moment.

Cheers,
Ryan Edge

BTW, it was the switch that eletricuted me, first time it was just scary, the second time was even worst and it took the house out with it, lol

1 more thing, i had another idea for improving the briteness, after noticing a project i had dont in yr10 at school, i think i will try cleaning up a peice of perspects around the edges so it can be seen thro and then putting the backlight on it, hopfully it will increase the briteness even more, its so great, where going to end up beating MH at this rate. 😀

Ryan,

You gotta be more careful, seriously. Yes its quite low voltage, but it has some serious amps in it. I got done with a backlight supply it was bad :hot::whazzat:

My panel runs on the computer PSU.
Ive bought a new graphics card which seems a bit sharper (that pic was on old one) Old card was crap, never buy an sis card
Also got a tv tuner card so should be good for loadsa stuff.

Is the 530 limited to lower colour ? Some panels are even though the input is 32bit.

The only thing bout mine is the softness, it isnt on the panel, just projected so im guessing optics in the cheap ohp, see the slight fluffiness to the white text, it does glow, but not that much.

:smash: keep at it

Altec, you said you got a holder for you ENH bulb for $5. Where did you get that at? I've only seen a few places online that carry it, and they want a lot more than that.

My local electronics shop. Moyers (its small mom and pop shop run by two brothers). He got it outta the catalog so there are co's that offer it at $5 or he couldnt have sold me 1 ENH and 2 EXT holders all at that tprice. I did see some wanted insaine amounts online like $50.00 LOL. The bulb I used by the way is "phillips blue spot" which looks whiter ansi code is ENH.

HAHAHA I dont think this is it-LOL I search ENH socket I got that!

Hehe, ya I found ya one. No metal cage or srewable mounts like mine or ejector handle. But if you cant find one this will work fine.

http://www.micro-tools.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MT&Product_Code=TP120

$5.50

Search its out there. Try metal jacket ENH socket once in google.

This is probably why you burned your 24v adapter.

I = P/U => 50/12 = 4.16A
R = U/I => 12/4.16 = 2.88Ohm
P = U^2/R => 24^2/2.88 = 200W !

In other words your 50W bulb will be a 200W bulb with 24V, so make sure your powersupply can handle that power. With 15V it will be 78W and with 16V = 88W. This is not entirely right because the halogen filament change it´s resistance with the voltages, but that is too complicated to show here and it doesn´t make a such big diff.

hay guys heres summt for you all to laugh at....alot.

my projector produces a 10M diagonal image with a 136" throw, good or what? i only have room for less than 1/4 of the projected image, but i can have a long throw so thats how i worded it out, below is a low res image of about 100" less that 1/4 of it in my room.

Cheers,
Ryan Edge

Edit: it wont add the pic afte my pc crashed so it'll be on the following post.

I think you need a DIY WALL lol 😀: before diy projector 🙂

BTW pic looks good, I think you are using an xga 9" lcd screen. So that would be very nice, I mean screen door effect is not an issue with that resolution 😉

i got my second lamp replaced today, and its far briter, unforutionatly my fresnals didnt come today so i will have to wait untill tuesday as its bank holiday, i was watching futurama, IMAX Thrill Ride and playing some games on it today, i still only have 1/4 of the visable screen so it doesnt look very nice, but at about 120" i think it was, it was acceptiable, i know when i get my fresnals i will be blown away at that size bacause it was have four times as many pixles in the same space, i have two brite spots in the middle from the lamps, i assume i need to place a fresnal before the lcd to fix this, which is ok because i ordered 2.

whats happening with yours disa?

also, i have 4000 hour lamps and i want to over power them so they last 2000 hour, what voltage do i need?

Cheers,
Ryan Edge

well act the moment mine is at his "top setup".. I'm waiting for good quality fresnels I have ordered and for a PC PS unit wich will give power to the whole thing!

I tried to feed my lamp with a 24v power source, it was hell bright but it burnt the power supply.. As a 50w@12v is a 200w@24 volts, and mine was just 50w maz output!!!!!

The image now it's really good anyway..

SCORE!!.... my fresnals came today, wanna see the resualts?, i shrink it down to about 45" and its looks amazing, especialy when watching futurama also i can see with my lights on, i tryed to capture it but it didnt comeout great.

Cheers,
Ryan Edge
