My 4" Lcd Project, Results

Disa I have looked your Mega Game Projector and I ' m really impressed with its price. Also its resolution is better than our crappy mobile LCD tv' s ( 320 x 240 > 480 x 234 )

I think it could make screendoor effect over 60-70" but it is very nice for that price. You mentioned its brightness is ok even in daylight ! and I thought it is using some kind of trick like you.

Because my ancient lcd projector is also using 50/12 dichroic but its has very weak light....

My projector has a condenser lens front of the lamp, and after condenser lens there is lcd screen, after it there is a mirror, and than objective lens :dead:

I don' t know about condenser lens but it could not be better than fresnel for increasing light beam IMO ( if it is wrong, correct me now lol)

I' m thinking to modify its backside, I mean I want to make a box for external / stronger lamp and 220 / 12 / 100 transformer. I hope I could do that... BTW, please post some new pictures 🙂

thanks Mathias! I just plugged my light in a 24v power supply...Now it's damn bright:hot: !!!!
I can see it clearly now..

Anyway I do need some setup on my projector (fresnel etc) so I will post quality pics when I'll finish working on it!

I'm going to post here the pictures of the image projected by the Mega Pro Game Projector... WONDERFUL..Take a look..😱

24V !!! Be careful with the voltages, the bulb maybe only last 5 - 30 minutes with so high voltages, use 15-16V and they will last longer.

Usually the difference between a transformer and adapter is that the adaptor outputs DC-voltages and the transformer AC-voltages, but an adaptor can also output AC. If you feed a halogen bulb with DC it will only last half the given

This is very true. But the lumens per watts efficiency goes way up too! I know my EXT 12vac bulb on a pc power supply 12VDC was very impresivve for its size and watts. I should have my 175watt MH 15o Spot lamp this week by the way guys!!! Yehaw! M57 balast type too! Only 5" in diameter and 6" long overall. R40 ref. Dichroic. 10,000 hours. Color is 4k like my halo. I like that. Lower is yellow. 5,500 like my other m57 bulb is kinda going blue'ish. I like 4k alot more though I shouldnt....:cannotbe:

mhh, yes I think I'll go down to 16v or something! It was just to try!

I have another problem, Mathias maybe you can help me!
With that bright lamp I have a washed-out bright spot right in the middle of the image..maybe it's because of the beam (8°)? But before triyng 24v the problem was very limited..
Maybe I have to move the fresnels a little bit from the light? What do you think?

Thanks buddy

well due to not having fresnals and only 1 lamp at the moment i cant give you a decent screen shot but heres one where you can just make out the winamp icon on the task bar at 1028x768, being infront of it i can tell you it looks better here, i've mpunted the lcd backwards tho so text is dificult to read, but it does look good, no more screen door than on the lilliputs, and less than my old one, i worked out if you could see it all it would be 152" and my old one was 45" will pretty bad screen door.

Cheers,
Ryan Edge

Housemachine: Well, the better distance to look at it is 4 meters.. from such a distance you can barely see the screendoor effect!

Ryan: Nice setup! I'm looking foward to look at the final result!

News: I burnt the 24v adapter...dunno why.. just, it warmed up and stopped working, so my HUGE bright light is no more working..

I came back to my old 12v AC adapter, but I managed to get best results with fresnel, lens etc, and now the result is good enough

Anyway, somebody was mentioning to use a Pc power supply, wich is DC.. Is there a big difference than using an AC adapter? 'cause if there is, I'll move to that solution! Could I also feed my lcd panel with the pc power supply?

hay disa, i'm using a pc power supply, i dunno how different it is to the....well whatever your using, but u can see from my resualts thats just testing and i'm back to 1 lamp because the otherones cement stuff broke when i droped it, i gotta take it back and get it replaced, i should be getting my two fresnals on saturday, so i will post resualts then, you probly can run your lcd on the comp psu depending on what voltage and ampage it needs, i think it can be 1.8v either way and the amps it doesnt matter if there over but under may cause damage, i may hunt out a 24v adaptor and try it, i think i have an 18v priner one, that should be good.

Cheers,
Ryan Edge

EDIT: i forgot to mention be carful with the comp psu, mine electricuted me twice now an i tell you its bloody scary. good luck 😀

Please be careful Ryan!!!

- I want to see the results of your projector !!!!

No but seriously dont mess with wires when turned on, apart from being scary (ive done it too) you can easy short something and then oops no panel no more after all that work.

Look forward to it,
Hope it beats my ohp which was pretty good. No time at mo to play with it though 🙁

Screenshot is about 40" only, need to spend time on set up to bigger wall.

Anyone finished my fav game too ?

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
