MTX 1000D Problem

Does anyone know which side the dot goes on VCA I photo shopped 1 and 2 I just finally got around to replacing the broken one and I just want to put it back together I highly doubt it will fix my problem but I would like to put the new one back in the way it belongs so in case I decide to work on it later I wont be lost which way it goes like I am now

The circle is pin 1 and goes in the square pad (on the left in the photo).

With the That 2180B installed the output sounds like a cb radio a lot of feedback and no sound as in before replacing the issue was the amp had very low not amplified sound
