I'm happy to say that all orders received before the weekend will go out today, more than a week early! 🙂

Pierre, I'll get your order in the mail within a day or two. (sorry--had the envelopes/customs forms all filled out ahead of time for the other orders)

Jason, I'm shipping you 8 boards + 2 proto boards as requested. You will be getting a refund as you paid twice for shipping.

Next steps
THANK YOU to everyone for their input and patience. My next goal is to complete the manual by the end of this weekend. Jens has been a huge help in getting this together. If you get your boards before then, I'd advise everyone to wait for the manual unless you are sure you know what you are doing.

If anyone has any issues at all, please mail me through the forum and I will see they are corrected. (this is different from my Paypal address!)

MOXlite delivery

Hi,
well done Tiroth, my moxlites arrived first post Monday morning 0930GMT.
PCB quality is impeccable.
Q1. are those Surface mount Diodes and caps under the voltage regulators?
Q2. what footprint are they? 0603 &/or 0805
Q3. any good tips for failsafe soldering in small quantities, I want to use my 18w iron?

Andrew,

The caps are 0805. The diodes are the standard leadless signal diodes. Probably, with smallish caps of good quality both diodes and caps could be omitted. I almost always include them though.

Jleaman,

The layout of the proto boards is almost identical, the only major difference is the grounding. You should be able to use a silkscreened board as your guide. If a component is in a different orientation, just do a quick sanity check to make sure I didn't alter the routing.

Nisbeth,

Manual almost done! Sorry for the delay. I am working to get this out ASAP.

I got mine too :smash:
thanks alot Tiroth.

Tyler,

The boards look great, thanks.

Is the manual going to include recommendations for the SMD parts? I have never used them and am finding it a bit of a challenge - especially figuring out what package the diodes should be. My old eyes will have lots of fun when it comes to soldering them in. I may have to get my teenage son to do it for me.

Also. can anyone recommend a suitable cap for C3 on the op-amp board? .1uf with 2.5mm lead spacing seems hard to come by.

Thanks.

why don't you show up and give a piece of information?

Valid question, but I have a good idea of how busy he is. These things eat up time... add a day job/school, time for other's( family and friends, pets), time for oneself and time for basic human functions necessary for proper mental and physical operation...can't skimp too much on any of these without making mistakes or becoming stressed and dejected.
I bet he's wishing things would go more quickly and doesn't want to keep writing posts beginning with "sorry for the delay"...but an ETA update would be nice every once in a while😉
