I hope you don't mind the question attached to your thread but would like to ask what the strike through is used for. . . . as opposed to just deleting the word. Thanks.
What I see in the code is this:
Did you mean to use parentheses on the S at the end of "portion"? The square brackets invoke BB code.
future please only attach what portion[S] is relevant.
TIA[/S]

No, I learned that on Day 1. That said, I initially did out of habit, but on the first strike thru post I realized my error and edited/deleted them, but kept getting strikes with/without the 's', so guess I'm now wondering if once posted, it can't be deleted.
The forum software wants desperately to close all BB code. I had the hardest time showing it in my post above. It can be undone, you can see it if you toggle BB mode in the edit window.
....and yet it didn't, though just replied to my post, removed the codes and added an 's' to 'portion' and it posted correctly, so go figure.....
and please delete the bad post.
TIA

TIA
"which portion(s) are relevant" is one way to put it.
If you instead type "which portion[s] are relevant" then it will put an [/s] at the end and it will all become strikethrough.
There is a way around it if you want, like I did in this post for display purposes..

I tried the old "noparse" tag but it didn't work. There is a way around it if you want,
EDIT. Ah ha! "plain"
Thanks PRR.
The strikethrough thing still seems like a provision for one use in ten million . I guess it could find more frequent use if you had typing turrets and want to fake remorse.
Learned a new word today though, Epanorthosis !

I use it pretty regularly, but it's particularly useful for edits and updates, often allowing a bit of humour or nuance in the edit. Or showing that something that was there is now not.The strikethrough thing still seems like a provision for one use in ten million .
GV uses it so frequently he'd like to see it on the main toolbar. I think it's fine in the dropdown myself.
Epanorthosis - yes, that's it!
