Hi,
Spotify Connect does not work anymore.
I am running Moode on RP3 with Allo Boss DAC for Spotify (Premium) Connect and it was running without issues for sometime. I had not updated it in over a year and yesterday I unnecessarily used the Update button in Moode and Spotify Connect has not worked ever since. When I connect to my speakers with Connect it does not play anything and Spotify starts to frantically skip tracks for ever, skipping stops if I select Software volume control but no music is ever played.
I have tried changing all the settings, searched through everything I came across Google, even did that patch that ppl were talking about (sudo rpi-update pulls/5510) when they had a similar issue with Allo Boss on Moode 8. I also did a full reinstall of the latest version 9, no go, I then went back to 8 but nothing changed. I do not know Linux, but just enough to have managed to put this thing together purely through reading forums etc. which worked great for a while but now I am defeated lol. I made this account just to get some human help.
I do not believe the problem is with Allo Boss because the radio stations do play, I got Airplay to work as well, only Spotify Connect seems to have an issue and that is literally the only thing I use this setup for. I do not want to go back to raspotify nor Volumio etc. I think Moode is much better than all of them out there if only it can go back to working like it used to. Please help!
Thanks!

Hey guys,
I know this isn't quite audio related, but maybe someone went through the same thing and can help.
I bought a RPI5 and would like to run Moode + Adguard Home on it. But there's an issue while configuring Adguard. It says that port 80 is already in use.
This happens on Moode only. I tried it in RPI OS Lite and it works properly. So yeh... Any idea of what I need to do? Maybe some of you have the same setup and know the workaround.
Thanks in advance!

I don't know specifics of Adguard but port 80 is the default port for unencrypted web traffic, so will be used by Moode for its web interface. You will need to change the port of either instance to something other than 80 in order for both web interfaces to co-exist on the same system.
I feel really stupid now, but that was it! Thank you!
Btw, since I'm here, I connected a NTFS USB drive to the RPI. It has quite a few tracks. I updated the library and nothing shows up. I checked to see if it was mounted and it is, under /media/. Is that the issue or...?
EDIT: Nvm, it's fixed. Thanks guys!

Hi,
This is probably a silly question, but is there any way to display song lyrics on a Moode display, possibly using the musixmatch API? I am hard of hearing.
I am using a Raspberry Pi 4 with the official 7" touch screen.

Hi,
moOde 9.1.0 is available in the Media Player OS section of the Raspberry Pi Imager or as a direct download at https://moodeaudio.org. Visit the Forum for more information https://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=6908&pid=57591#pid57591

Hi Tim.
I use an old Boss 1.2 dac hat on pi3b+ and I upgraded to V9.1.0 from a V8 variant just yesterday and was delighted to see aptx HD being used by default! Instantly tested the 1khz harmonic profile on my analyser and was greeted with 0.002% THD along with none of the nonharmonic SBC tallgrass over the noiselands. So first, THANK YOU FOR YOUR AMAZING WORK!
I have one specific question regarding the read-only boot partition / overlay file system setting in raspi-config. Previously whenever I turned it on, the system properly forgot everything at either a reboot or an abrupt power down. I did the same in the latest version but it seems like moode is still logging every setting and playlist item after a power cycle has taken place i.e. data is still being written even after setting it to read-only.
Would love to know if there is a way to make it forget everything after a power cycle like it's major version predecessors. I understand the implications, just want to keep it that way as an old habit of mine.
Thanks again.

Moode 9 series is based on RaspiOS Bookworm so possibly overlayfs has changed in this version of the OS. We don't test with it so I can't really help you out but you might want to request an account on or Forum and create a Thread in the Support sub-forum. There are a couple of users that have used overlayfs in the past and they might have some insights.
The Support page at moodeaudio.org has info on how to easily request a Forum account 🙂
