Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

Awesome!
Any chance you could put it inside the top circle which show the time remaining?

For someone who has audio at various bitrates and formats, this info is very nice to have.

Edit: I use Mediamonkey on my PC to put ratings on each track.
Does anyone know how I can use the same ratings in MoOde? Does MoOde support ratings?

Hi,

I've tried a few different layouts and they all look too cluttered on the Playback panel but I'll keep at it.

AFAIK MPD does not support a ratings tag.

Is there a trail? May I download 3.1?

//

Hi,

I can only provide support for the latest release of Moode which is 3.5. There is no trialware or any other type of try-before-u-buy version of the software because of the effort involved to develop and support a trialware system. I'd much rather devote my time to coding and supporting Moode itself. If u end up not liking Moode then just email me.

Hi,

Just a brief status on Moode 3.5 bug fixes.

Field testing has verified the fixes below. I'm in the process of making an in-place update for Moode 3.5 that applies the fixes and bumps the version to Moode 3.6

- FIX: I2S device list query (Boss driver not showing up)
- FIX: Playlist save not working
- FIX: DSD decoded-to on Audioconfig
- FIX: Wifi/BT disable not working if Adv kernel
- FIX: Change Browser title not working
- FIX: System info on/off status for UPnP, DLNA
- FIX: ALSA volume field "required" error

There will also be a bump to Moode 3.6 release image that contains all the fixes and updates.

The in-place update for Moode 3.5 is free and the Moode release 3.6 image is free to current Moode 3.5 product key holders. Just download Moode 3.6 zip and use your product key to unlock it.

Hi,

I'm not sure what those settings are or do so can't really answer the question.

Hi Tim,

This is what the Rune developers describe as the Sound Signature settings:

Each of the profiles includes a set of performance tweaks that act on specific system kernel parameters. They are not enabling Digital Signal Processing (DSP) nor any other sound effect - the output remains untouched (bit perfect). By applying settings that act on kernel latency parameters (and probably on the amount of overall jitter), we have found that each of these profiles introduces an audible impact on the overall sound quality.

So I don't think they're the same as the newly introduced Moode audio ALSA DSP preset curves in 3.5, but nice to have as they don't interfere with the incoming audio signal. So Maybe I am asking for a feature request in 3.5.1 😉

Hi,

Sounds like they are a type of kernel performance tuning. Moode Advanced kernels are "tuned" for performance so in some sense they are similar.

My playing music was interrupted for about one second when clicking on Library.
I am using the Advanced RT kernel with FIFO, and the 'release candidate' fixes on top of 3.5, on a RPi 2.

Not a very big issue but thought I'd mention it.

Hi Sander.

The Real-Time kernel can probably do things like that. Try either RR scheduler or the Advanced-LL kernel and RR scheduler.

Also set the CPU governor to Performance.

Not sure which source the advanced kernels are based on but...

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuStudio/RealTimeKernel

Kernel Types
-generic kernel - this is the stock kernel that is provided by default in Ubuntu.
-preempt kernel - this kernel is based on the -generic kernel source tree but is built with different configurations (settings) to reduce latency. Also known as a soft real-time kernel.
-rt kernel - is based on the Ubuntu kernel source tree with Ingo Molnar maintained PREEMPT_RT patch applied to it. Also known as a hard real-time kernel.
-lowlatency kernel - very similar to the -preempt kernel and based on the -generic kernel source tree, but uses a more aggressive configuration to further reduce latency. Also known as a soft real-time kernel.
-realtime kernel - is based on the vanilla kernel source tree with Ingo Molnar maintained PREEMPT_RT patch applied to it. Also known as a hard real-time kernel.

I'm using the LL kernel with performance on and thought it sounded the best / most musical in my setup but have my pi3 underclocked and setups and tastes are different, etc.

I'm having trouble saving new radio stations with 3.5. I can enter name and URL, and hit Add Station. However a search does not find the new station (and it's not in the list either). Any idea what I should look for? The information I'm entering is as follows:

KQED

Hi Tim,

Refresh Browser and if that doesn't resolve the issue then restart MPD.

Tim, I have two questions about the new requirement that Moode be paid for: (1) do you plan to give users who donated in the past access? Assuming the answer is 'no,' (2) If I purchase, how many future versions am I entitled to receive?

Hi,

1) By default I sent keys to everyone that donated in 2017 up to April 12 since that was the period when Moode 3.5 was developed.

2) Major releases $10, maybe 2 of these a year. Updates, new kernels, bug fixes, minor feature adds, etc $0. Something like that.

Send me an email 🙂
