A while back I picked up some unused Monsoon Mh-500 2 way satilite speakers and
2 pairs of the Panels from the MH-700 . I was thinking about using those larger panels
from the MH-700 in a MTM with the smaler panel from the MH-500 as the tweeter
but neverf did so if anyone here needs these for parts just let me know and no I don't
have the autio contgrole box that went with these oh the panels from the MH-700 don't
have the plastic feet. If by chance tou can pick them up in zip code 30290 you can have
them free. Or other wize the cost of a USPS flat rate box + $20 packing fee, I know I
should have posted this in market place but thought people here would be more likely
to want these and ask a lot less questions.

I never was able to take a look at those. to bad you are in the US 🙁 i would have been interested in the panels themself. to take a peak inside and make a small video about them, since i make planar magnetic drivers all the time 🙂
They are great drivers, I coupled a pair with a long throw 5" sub and they make excellent near field desk speakers.
Woody, your scheme is exactly what Monsoon did with their home speakers. In a large enuff baffle the 700s are capable to about 225 hz

Their warranty policy was “replace”. We were in the right place at the right time. When Eastech bought them (to gain the licence to the Thigpen PP planer) we scooped up multiple pallets of dead. A surprising number were easily fixed, a few less were a bit more work. Mostly bypassing the broken connection to the controller.
I parted the rest out. I must have sold at least 10 sets of 16 of the big panels like Woody has. I still have a few of the 7 & 9” woofers and a whack of the 4” — they are for the dodecahedron woofer to go with the icosahedron mains.
Eastech still sells at least 2 superior sets of these. I have a pr of the little ones.

I have a pair of MM-1000s that continue to work great well into old age.
I'd open them up for you but they are riveted shut. No way in that I can see.
(oh, and planet10 - "we"?)

This is fr response from 0 degree on axis and 10, 20, 30 and 40 degree of axis.
Then on axis with phase, looks ok.
And finally distortion.
MH-700 like other planars has rising response from ~250 Hz up, with hump at 7kHz. There is some resonance at the hump, even spike in distortion.
