Hi r,
You can forget about using it up to 7k, possibly up to 3-4kHz max. JMLC recommended it but only from 200Hz up 1,2k. So a 150Hz Tractrix might be a good choice as it only will be 65*65cm.
A 200Hz l´Cleach is close to 100cm dia.

yeah 🙂). Sorry.

Edit:
By the way. Do you know what are the slots from the sides? I have seen this in many designs.

No matter what, i'm going to buy this driver. It's very cheap and for this price there is nothing in this price range that can go that low.
Here is the user manual.

I'm planning to build the horns myself. But i need some opinions on this one.
Where to cross-over, what type of horn profile to use? I'm not to good with Hornresp 🙂.

It is a compression driver thought for Loud voice reproduction for speak in large hals. Can be good but not thought for low distortion and flat response more tuned for very high efficiency. So not thought for hifi.
I know this visaton design did also use such compresion driver as midrange.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Well, here i can have it for about 50$. Try to find a Monacor dealership in the US. There must be one somewhere 🙂.

About the fidelity of the driver...how bad can it be? This will be just the first step into the world of horns and compression drivers.

Can someone provide me some documentation about those "hornreflex" enclosure?

Thanks for the input to you all.

I think it will take some years before you understand what you want to build here. Every one has to start some where.

I know nice compresion drivers from bms the bms 4535 cost 70euro use down to 1000Hz very good specs. highend specs
This in combination with a front loaded bas reflex only thing is to look for a good 12-15 inch woofer to combine. a three way horn system is expensive and to challenging to begin with. you can make a horn your self.
with the exel horn caculation sheet see site volvotreter.

Here a nice low cost woofer with simulation. 76 euro on ebay.

I apreciate your input very much Helmuth. Most probably i will be better off with a standard solution instead of trying to use the monacor driver down to 200Hz. But i am to young yet to listen to others opinions without experimenting so i will probably give this driver a try( i can spare 40-50 euros in the name of....ears).
One driver, one horn ....if i like the results i will go and buy the other one..
If i don't like it...well...i will then have a very big portavoice 🙂).

What type of horn would you try with this driver? (something that i can build)
