Hi Tim,
Yes, I know them (the valve ones). I think Rodd probably doesn't spend as much time in the tubes forum as some of us. After all, we're sooo well behaved and refined over there.
Cheers,

Yes.
I just thought in light of past events, the suggestion was very ironic.

Dull, Colourless and Boring!
That's how I can describe this particular discussion and also 99% of the topics on this forum for the last SIX MONTHS. Isn't that amazing? little wonder some well respected members do not participate in the discussions (ARGUMENTS), or they express their opinion very sparingly.
Why don't you all settle, read some books, walk in the park, listen to the others and then then jump and attack the people who happen to have a different opinion. And I would also say that some of the MODERATORS are the worst polluters of this forum, people, who think they are The Untouchables and can talk rubbish most of the time, even going to the extreme of insulting other members, just to reinforce their point of view.
This forum lost its sparkle quite some time ago when people like Grey Rollins and Halojoy were forced out, mostly because the so called Moderators were lacking knowledge, experience and most importantly human touch.
If this trend continues, I'm afraid the forum is doomed.
Anyone wanting to reply to me in an angry way, please send me e-mail personally, do not pollute these pages anymore.
Kind Regards
Stan

Dull, Colourless and Boring is you latest post. If you care so much for the forum not to be doomed, why don't you participate more and with your bright posts lift it up from the road to ruin?
If you claim that MODERATORS are worst polluters of this forum would you mind be more specific and post some examples?
And you should noticed by far, that one of your heroes is back in action, last few days at least. Maybe we'll see more sparkle now?
PS: As far as I remember, you used to be also one of the worst polluters on the forum, and under your current, new name you just chose to keep low profile, but unjustified outbursts, like the latest one, remind me of your previous style: complaining without really doing anything.

Well, Peter,
Thanks for the prompt reply, I think that proves my point of view and I would like to answer your questions in the specified order:
1. I did not say I cared for the forum, I said I find it boring, especially for the last 6 (SIX) months. Whether my posts are bright is a matter of the majority of the members to decide, not to you, fehrsteen?
2. About The Moderators, I'm afraid I have to point at you as one of the best (worst) polluters, who, when has nothing else to say asks sarcastic questions, or throws remarks which only you find amusing.
3. As for the Heroes, yes, they are back (or some of them), and yes, they are Heroes, at least in my book, and if you read my post carefully, I said they post sparingly. Why? I hope you can find the answer yourself.
4. Well, obviously you memory serves you the way you like it. I had one argument with a guy from Holland and was sin-binned for two (2) weeks for that and I simly stopped posting. I never tried to keep low profile, as you described it (did you get that phrase from a Hollywood movie?), I simply could not get myself involved in an pointless discussions.
As for my name, this is my real name, and if you check the records you'll find that I tried twice to unsubscribe completely from DIYAudio forum - unfortunately unsuccessfully, due to lack of interest from the people responsible - they didn't even answer my direct e-mails. So, check your facts before talking big, OK!
5. You were obviously in such a great hurry to answer in your usual style, that you did not read my post completely - I said send me a personal e-mail and stop polluting these pages.
6. If, you Peter consider the previous post a complaint, it's your problem, to me it's a point of view and I have the right to express it.
Kind Regards
Stan

You just made it obvious that current thread is a pointless discussion, by using boring, colorless and dull expression. So I don't understand why you suddenly decided to get involved and come out of the woods? To me, that changes your status from low profile to highly visible, as before I didn't noticed any of your posts, and I usually read everything. And I know you are using your real name now.
You still don't get it, do you?
I said send me an e-mail, stop using the public forum to argue with me or anyone else for that matter.
And before posting a reply one should think for a little while, maybe then one would find that the other party's point has some merit.
No regards this time

Stanislav, whether you consider my replies to you as polluting, it's your problem, to me it's a point of view and I have the right to express it.
Finally we agree on something - it's a matter of a point of view and the right of expression.
As for the woods, I don't know how did you come up with that conclusion. In a similar fashion all I can say is: you are off your tree again!
Stan
P.S. And try to spell my name right. Re: the last post in the other thread

IMO, you are just one of those people who no matter what, sooner or later, will start showing disatisfaction with something, and will try to make it obvious to others. Those people usually don't contribute much. That's what I meant by coming out of woods. Here, just seventh post after joining second time: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10806
At the time of stan_nesta, the other such person, whom I rememer well for that kind of posting, was CryingDragon.
Maybe to you the forum is like a TV, and when you don't like the channels you start complaining. I don't think this is the right approach. You always get what you put in. Did you ever notice members with more substantial number of posts complaining about low level of quality here (except for Fred)?
You want interesting discussion and good info, try to initiate it yourself. As I said, you get what you put in. There are lots of observers around the forum, but I don't think they should be the first to start complaining. After all, they didn't do anything to push the forum one way or another.

Stanislav and Peter: Things are a little warmer than is comfortable for others, and it's getting personal. Please take a 2 day break from this thread to cool down a bit. If either of you picks this back up in the next 48 hours or moves the dispute elsewhere, the SinBin is next.
Hopefully, after a couple of days, you'll be able to approach this constructively again.
He Said, She Said......
I'm off to see if there is something sensible on the Discovery Channel.
Eric.
Yeah, getting a bit too much like the Jerry Springer Show.Maybe to you the forum is like a TV.....
