Why, SY, you ask???
When you are 19, broke, and the Army waves an extra $100/month in front of your nose.......
BTW.....lucky for my brother-in-law that I did not go to Airborne school......otherwise he could have been one of the unlucky 44 kids that the Army was almost stupid enough to put me in charge of.
Lucky for them they changed their mind before it was too late.

Hi,
May I hereby congratulate two young mods on gracefully preventing yet another mud slinging contest?
Hats off to D'haen and Roddy for their refreshing approach.
Keep up the good work fellows, you both have a very effective approach that puts a new meaning to the moderating concept.
No offense to anyone else in the same position, just thought these fellows deserved it.
Comments?
Cheers,😉

Why do I get the feeling you're just flattering the mod staff to get them to nominate you to mod status... 'course when that happens, Hell's Bells...
😉

You always get it. Tick the box on the left next to the "have you searched" question, and post.
There's a little check box on the screen where you write out your post acknowledging that you've searched. Make sure to tick it.
Hope this helps.

Ah, speaking of moderating, when are the tube amp photo and discussion threads going to get stickied on the tube forum? 😎

Are there particular threads that are misplaced? If so, specifically, what threads are they?
Hi Rodd,
Nothing wrong IMO.
It's just that there was talk about having a permanent thread within the "Tubes" section of the forum where people could have pix of their projects posted with a little description, scrapbook kinda thing...
I think, D'haen or Pink Mouse know more about it...not sure, though.
Tim's probably concerned the original thread is going to be pushed out of visibility.

Hmm,
Some of us have wanted a gallery of member's work for some time. Unfortunately this is beyond the present resources available.
In a way, a sticky thread with low res, or deep-linked images is a kind of back-door to this aim. I suppose the question of whether it will be endorsed by the site management will depend upon whether they expect the graphic posts to snowball or not, or whether any other problems are envisaged. We mustn't forget that we get these facilities for free. There's not much that's free nowdays😉
I'll ask.

Hi,
From what I've seen not that many members actually post pics of what they made.
Although digital cameras are getting more common as we speak not everyone feels the need to show off their latest project.
As it is for the moment I feel we're doing fine.
I myself refrain from posting unnessarily pics for I know all too well what this does for bandwidth and real estate.
Pics can be extremely helpful when explaining things or posting circuit diagrams, other than that it quickly becomes a showroom of Ferraris and not so Ferraris, if you know what I mean.
Luckily, real esate is steadily getting cheaper, but as you point out correctly, we're all here thanks to the incredibly kind people hosting this forum.
Members should never forget that.
Regards,😉

Frank,
I for one would be very curious to see some of your creations...I wonder what you can come up with in the 5 minutes a day when you are not here posting 😉

No excuses
Tandy (Radio Shack) in Tottenham Court Road, London, currently have keyring digital cameras on offer at £15😱
They will take 20 half VGA res pics. on internal RAM, and come with USB interface.

Hi,
I'd like to fool myself into thinking that somehow my posts do help out some people somehow?
I'd also like to spare you an extensive and boring bio...but, hey I haven't forgotten I still need to reply to an e-mail of yours.😉
Some people don't want to be in the picture if you know what I mean.
Maybe, just maybe, I may get my a digital cam and take some shots of my sytem and than post those here.
I just don't feel any need to do so.
Most of my collaborate exercises are published on the web, you'll just won't find them unless pointed to them...which I sometimes do.
Sorry for the OT to all concerned,😉

I know there were at least two amp pic threads on this forum, you could move and edit those (culling down to the pictures and any description) if you'd like.
Anyone wondering, the threads are Photos and Discussion.
Edit: here are some threads if you want to do some splicing:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=347392&sortby=&sortorder= (if that works)
