It's about time someone has taken positive action against the glut of redundant postings cluttering the forum! In particular I look forward to heavy moderator action in the Chip Amp forum where at times 1 in 5 topics of new threads have already been covered at length - often many times over.
Keep up the good work!

As we are on the subject of respect, I'd like to ask you, Variac, why do you keep deleting my posts, without even sending them to Texas like you do with all other "over the line" posts? As an actively contributing member of Diyaudio, who's been donating his monetary as well as non-monetary resources for quite some time now, don't you think I should have rights like all other members here seem to have? If you feel I'm over the line, send my posts to Texas, sin-bin me...do whatever you please. But no, my posts are just deleted with no explanation whatsoever. Talk about respect. Talk about being "over the line".
How about I ask you to delete all other traces of me on this forum? All instances in which I helped people out, advised them, posted schematics, did calculations, found errors that went undetected until I pointed them out... How about you delete all my MOX contributions? Refund my donations even? How about that? If this has become a playground of a select group of people, then I DEMAND to be erased from the collective memory of this community and want you to do with ALL my posts exactly what you did with the lumanauw's posts.
Regards,
Milan

These days most deleted posts are not sent to Texas, only the most minor ones that are from people that don't understand what is required of a member. Texas has never been for all posts. Please stop feeling that you are a special member. You are a member like any other. We don't delete posts at members request, as lumanauw has discovered. All the posts he requested to be deleted are still here. So as I said, you are being treated like any other member as you requested. Perhaps that's exactly what's bothering you?
I will NOT discuss this in an argument with you. I don't with other members, I won't with you. Any other posts attempting this, which are off topic here, will be deleted.

dr. bashing
Not sure why you folks are bashing doctors.... there is NO "government monopoly" in medicine... quite the contrary, there is a pseudo - monopoly in the health insurance and liability insurance industry shafting doctors across the board... ever try to file a claim for services and actually get paid correctly? I have, do it every *******' day, and it sucks and is full of fraud. So go vent your spleens in the proper direction... good doctors put in looonnngg hours of unreimbursed time to earn their incomes... not to mention decades of training.
Now lawyers, that's a differnt story...
As far as intellectual property protection...
I have several electrochemical patents and the ip involved in them has been stolen by many a large and small operation... it's how s(*& happens in the real world.
Best you can do with a novel idea is to keep it as a trade secret, and, barring that, the secret to patent protection is writing it such that the examiner "thinks" it can be easily reproduced by someone knowledgeable in the field, but certain details are obfuscatory.
My too sense...

SOS different day. Just ban him too. The king has spoken.

May I ask why you don't delete? We don't delete posts at members request, as lumanauw has discovered.
sometimes i see messages being deleted completely from this forum, not sent to Texas.
Sometimes i can agree with that, especially if someone is using inappropriate language, racist remarks, attacks another forum-member personal etc.
Sometimes in a discussion , for instance between a member and a moderator, posts are completely deleted too, instead of being sent to Texas.Even if someone just states an opinion.
The problem that i have with this kind of actions is that noone outside the people directly envolved in a discussion know whats going on exactly, and thus can be misinformed.
I fully understand moderating sometimes means you have to use some force, but this seems like censorship to me.
Isn't it better to send the posts to Texas so people can read whats going on EXACTLY ?

Pavel, everybody's read The Old Man and the Sea. 😉
As I keep saying in my posts that keep being deleted, things are bound to go very wrong when moderators take sides, delete unoffensive posts and/or put words into people's mouth that they didn't say or imply just so as to steer discussions in a direction more to their liking. That's not moderating. That's playing God.

I am fully with you here Milan. We are now at the point that a member can just steal whole threads from this forum, cut out any posts from other people not to his liking, and post the result on another forum without impunity. Then, as people here rightfully protest that, THEIR posts get deleted.
That takes away any and all confidence that anybodies posts will be treated with even a minimum of respect. What is stopping me from copying threads from here, modify them to my liking to make me look good, and post them on my forum or homepage?

Pinkmouse:Who, the copycats, the Post-deleters, or BOTH ?
edit: i think i posted a question about post-deletions here earlier. They "why" doesnt concern me. the "how" does, however.

Firstly I just disagreed in technical level (being permanently convinced that non-feedback is the best, which is contrary to my experience). To my surprise, I found it was considered as a PERSONAL MATTER, which was completely nonsense.
Then I read several further posts and understood - the Old Man and The Sea. So I stopped even technical dispute, as it is narrow-minded.
Let's go on, guys, forget this and open new threads .... 😉

PMA, we're in the section "off-topic" here.this makes audio-topic kinda off-topic here 🙂 sorry couldnt resist.
I dont think there's something wrong with a discussion, as long as you consider it an exchange of ideas rather than a win/lose kind of thing.
with kind regards,
Klaas

As we were moved, I am sure that everybody understands 😉 . It is nothing like win or loose 😉 . /narrow-minded😉 /
