Miniscule discrete op-amp

The idea is to create a discrete op-amp small enough to directly replace a DIP8 IC op-amp, ideally surpassing the performance of one of similar cost

You might want to try to build up something based around diamon transistor structures. In that case you have an exceptional I/V converter or buffer. J-Fet frontends can be used as well as adding a J-Fet buffer to the negative input to achieve high input impedances on both inputs for other circuits.

These and the PNP comp are great for low power CCS and mirror circuits, if space is a real concern. These are good space savers as well.🙂
