Mini A Board Run

Just ordered a couple sets of the SMD mini-As. Looking forward to a 4 channel amp for bi-amping 🙂

Does anyone have a parts list for the SMD version of the board? I've only found a thru-hole parts list.

Jase, please tell me those heat sinks are overkill...

Just ordered a couple my self. hope there are some left!

Looking forward to trying them out.

Kram.

I still have a few sets left, and will remove the item from the order page when they are gone 🙂

I will start preparing to get them shipped out tonight, and once they are all sold, I will ship them out at once, which shouldn't take more than a few more days.

Painted my car this weekend:

I see we share the same engine lift, damn thing fell on my head once with both its legs in the up-position.
Got a motorbike lift for swapping trannies (the ones with the metal shifter)

Yeah, I have had it fall a few times for me, I just lean it up against the wall if I have the legs folded now. I try to just leave it with the legs locked if I can find a place to store it.

I have gotten a lot of use out of it, swapping my crx engine, pulling an s2000 motor, pulling a miata motor, and fitting the s2000 motor into my kit car. I need to pull the motor again this weekend, so I can paint the chassis. It currently looks like this: http://www.briangt.com/gallery/coveland7

jfet aleph?

would it be hard to modify the pcb for a jfet aleph? Say have two possible fet places, one for jfets and th eother for the norm, with different biassing resistor values for the relevant fet your using?
Or even better, total jfet aleph 3, with as many of the loveltech jfets needed to get the 30 watts out, this doesnt seem this hard, but im not sure its not that straight forward.

cheers Arthur

Is there a spreadsheet for the Mini-A SMD parts list??? Beautiful boards by the way.

Brian sent it to me last week, and I checked it out. He posted it here
http://chipamp.com/diyaudio/miniALEPH-parts_list.xls

but, I did find the SM resistors are cheaper from newark than Digikey, over $30 cheaper because digikey has a 10 pc min buy for all these resistors. The PL that Brian posted only has the digikey PN's. You need to buy one of the transistors from newark anyway, digikey does not have it.

I still have one questoin about the PL that Brian has up. C5 on the schematic and PL say it's a 1 nF, but the part number is for a 10 nf part.

I must be blind AND stupid. The Mini A SMD board I have doesn't seem to match any schematic I've found.

The Mini-A version 1.0 is unbalanced input. sig in to R1, out R1 to R2/Q1 gate. My PCB is balanced in with the + input going to R1 (thats fine) then to R7/R2/R3/Z1. No joy with rev 1.0.
So I finally found a Version 1.01 schematic, dated 21/01/02. It doesn't even have an R1 that I can find. What I THINK is the + input is R2 (10k) to R4/R9/R5/Z1. R9 then ties to Q1 gate.

Is there a schematic around that actually represents the Mini A rev.1 smd boards??? If there isn't one I'll try to draw up one with matching part numbers for the rest of us that need such info to build confidently.

PS I still love the boards, just need to put the support info together in one place for the rest of us internet challenged diy wanabees.

Thanks guys... 😕
