Measuring performance of the Beveridge OTL amplifier

Adding a basic data point: Idle current.

My 2 amps have different transformers so they act a little different. On the bench with no signal & no load my OEM xfmr idles at 1.5 Amps and my aftermarket xfmr idles at about 1.7 Amps. (this is warmed up, after inrush)

If your amp idles a lot higher it probably needs investigation (possible oscillations & such).

Thanks Carl - We'll be working on this. Have you ever measured the unloaded voltage of the HV winding at the transformer?

I have to check my notes I believe I measured about 1.1KV before the doubler does its thing--- I am thinking ahead in the case of new transformer required.
