I have built several speakers With the alpair drivers, and Was thinking how much water the ones with metal cone would be acceptable. Only takling about light Rain, from being located outsider.?
It may depend on what kind of glue he uses on the surrounds. I'd contact Mark for his recommendation. My guess is that it would void the warranty.
The metal cone MA should be fine in a light rain. In a heavy rain i might worry about direct hits bending the cone.

I do have local acess to some DCGold drivers, though i havent heard them yet, so can't tell if they would be pleasing 🙂
IIRC the DCGolds came out of Babb so if they've retained any of the same design approach they should be very good.
I can't seem to find much information about them, only one of their drivers has ANY parameters avilable - N7R

other that that, the only help you get is an estimated box size, and that it should be ported..

i finally went for the DC Gold N7R, the N7R being the one i liked the most, both from construction and also their vision for that model (to compete with the best fullrange drivers on the marked..)
I see there is not many reviews on these speakers, so it will be quite interesting to see how they sound.
i was thinking ported, and around 50 - 80 liters, any thoughts?

Maybe contact Dave Chaffey directly ? As an avowed long time DIY builder, he should be more than capable of discussing your application and making specific recommendation(s )for enclosures . A quickie summary on the website's general info tab indicates he was quite happy with a TL design - but that term can mean different things to different folks.

Hi, That is way off their recommended 1/2 cuft (14L) box, rgds, sreten.
They recommend 14L sealed outdoors, and 14L vented indoors.
Don't ask me, I've no idea what specifications they are using.
