Mark Audio Alpair 12 P Gen. building proposals

Mark Audio 12 P Gen.2 Bauvorschläge

Dear DIY community! And thank you very much for the great echo! There’s something going on!
Hi Dave, hi Scott – I’ve done something! Yes, Scott sends you heaven – Dave had probably misunderstood me, but that’s not a problem. It is of course the Mark Audio Alpair 12 P Gen. 2. I chose it because it has an efficiency of about 92 dB and a resonance frequency of 42 Hz +/- 2 Hz. And one thing is clear to me the 10. 3 goes deeper – but more membrane moves more air.

And if e. g. a DBR housing, a BVR (short horn) housing, a TL housing or a ventilated thin wall reso housing (with 9 – 12 mm birch plywood) ala “Wilimzig” with 40 – 50 liters and a height of max. 65 cm approx. 44 Hz – 50 Hz reached the world is fine.

And since the MA 12 P Gen. 2 is supposed to work in an open baffle, like many of the “Vintage Fullrange Drivers” with lightweight paper membrane e. g. Philips 9710 M 01. Could a ventilation opening A > or even Sd possibly also work as with many housing designs of the Philips 9710 M 01.

I noticed that there is a big gap between the Small Reflex and the Pensil variants and Joan – in volume and in the lowest possible frequency. So there should be a middle ground in this no-man’s country.

And if thanks to Scott, the DIY audio community has even more possibilities with the MA 12 P Gen. 2, that helps everyone.

With kind regards

Stefan

Slight correction:

“And since the MA 12 P Gen. 2 is supposed to work well in an open baffle as you hear from some DIY people, such as the “Vintage Fullrange Drivers” with lightweight paper cone e. g. Philips 9710 M 01. Could a ventilation opening A > or the same size as Sd possibly work like this with many housing designs of the Philips 9710 M 01. ”

Does the MA 12 P Gen. 2 like a large ventilation openings in a cabinet?

With kind regards

Oh my god, what have I done:

Sorry Scott - I don't want to send you to heaven!? Never ever! It should have been " heaven must have send you"

So I have to confess, if I continue using the "Pons translation tool" I may loose my head here. Pons once has a contract with the "Deepl translation tool" what should I say - more than brilliant. Really fantastic, but now these time are gone!

So I'd better use my own brain ;-))

Kind regards

Stefan
