What du you make out of that? Is it pcb only or a complete kit with all the parts?

It says stereo in the listing and also that it includes high quality parts (ie nichicon muse, etc), so I would guess it has all parts. Not bad on the face of it for $30, but what can be done with it?

YOu can put it in one of these chasishttp://www.thlaudio.com/indexE.htm , add a cocktail of volume control , input selector, power supply and your choice of connectors . you got yourself a high end preamp.

FYI again, I just asked the seller how much the top most chassis is, It cost around $160- usd.

The seller is well-known for not sending items and refusing to refund etc. there are several threads on this forum about Tzeng Albert.

2. Look carefully !! The listing above is for the PCB only. No components are included. LOOK CAREFULLY!!

This is typical of his listings.
His components are not always genuine.
Do a Search for the seller to find warning threads.

Another good example of a Chinese company ripping off the Western market by stealing their designs.

Marantz HDAM is just a discrete op-amp built with several jfets. The schematic for one is in any Marantz amp service manual that makes use of them.

Do NOT give these people your money. Make it yourself on stripboard if you want to try it out.

I hate this kind of contradictive description of the item.

He states that:
"The item is PCB of the Marantz HDAM Module Preamplifier DIY KIT."

And also: " Audio Grade Hi-End Components NICHICON / RIFA / VISHAY-DALE / HOLCO"

This is NOT how to describe an item, it creates confusion.

And on a straight yes or no question:

He answers this bs:

How can this guy have 100% positive feedback?

I could be mistaken but I have a bad feeling about this seller.

Original discrete HDAM opamp from Marantz has 8 transistors or 9, if one of them is wired as diode in current mirror below folded cascode VAS transistors...but I can only count 6 per channel. That being said, this scam is obviously not based on original schematic...but it can be HDAM-S1 or HDAM-S2 buffer module, not preamplifier as stated. Don't buy it.

I would think this circuit, which is a x1 diamond buffer circuit (and NOTHING like the Marantz HDAM circuit) would sound better than a HDAM, which I consider to be a piece of over engineered, over complex junk, and gets bypassed in every Marantz CD and SACD player we get in for Upgrade work.

But as it's only x1, with no way of adding gain, it can't be used as a "preamp", at least not in my definition of a preamp.

HI,

I'm here to give you an update (as promised) on my regulator, I ordered from Albert tseng.

I already received the kit, Assembled it this morning and tested it just now, It works perfectly.

I will post picture later , as soon as I can. You be the judge , Whether the component are fake or not. All i know is that the kit outputs +/-15V dc that I required.
