Is this new since fitting the clock feed? or an old problem?
Have you screened the chips with copper foil? also the new circuit?

It since fitting pcb, I will be screening chip and fitting it next to servo ic.
I chucked it all together to test, a little more care in the fitment etc and it should be ok.

I think it may be reradiation of the 16m signal causing the skipping

It is something I had thought of.
I really want to get it right as the benefits are very good.

oooooo
My Russ Andrews Oak cone feet have arrived.
The Oak is very good quality too, very hard indeed.

just a thought
could be echo's
or
which one Dac or decoder is the master?
being
if your have the clock as set
the decoder and dac has to sync to the clock
if the clock is signal is interrupted to either the dac or decoder.
then data will be out of sync.
might be why the companies put the clock on the dac then run the decoder of the dac.????
allan
ps interruption could be anything ie RF, EMF, Vibration even down to
to cables?

Yep

I may also try tapping off the decoder feed.

where is it put into the decoder?

Morning all, thanks for the compliments, lol
Had a little listen to Joni Mitchell Hits this morning and I can now hear her sing "...he did the goat dance very well, but he kept my camera to sell." That last bit had never been decipherable before, a bit blurred on the last few words. I can only imagine what sort of clarity and detail Brent's player digs up with all those low noise regs

Excellent.
Yes I must admit the player does sound well

I bet

Btw, I estimate the cost of my reg mod to be approximately £3.50. Obviously it takes a lot of thought and time for someone with no electronics knowledge to complete, but otherwise, what value!!

Same coax yes. The Dac to decoder coax has been in use for a few months now.

I was thinking RF induced earth loop
Is the coax earth at the decoder as well?
allan
ps as for the display

ask simon here's the expert in that😀

sorry simon
i thought you fixed it

I gave up! lol. Tried some different parts and checked various points and showed voltages, but it got me nowhere. It plays music, and that's all that matters.

Anyway, you wanted to turn the display off !
