It's easy what to say.... it's LOL.
Simon is adding comedy value to the thread 😉

Well... it really is fun to read.....
Nevertheless I consider this as a warning to myself.
If I do such a mistake and burn an essential part of the player, I must start all over again.

Yes
Awesome work... just one question, Why are the GND lines so reticulated ?
I will use them for the decoder and HF amp psu...😉

Excellente
They were done like that to split the fat tracks up into smaller ones for the different cap combos etc you can use.
I think it's a work of art, the doublesided layout took lots of checking and re-checking to make sure there would not be a through hole short.

How can we be sure the tracks do not short when soldering a cap with thick legs ?rowemeister said:

There are various bits that can and will short, but the tracks are part of the same conductor, so it won't matter.
And yes, it's all funny and everything, but I really, really miss my music!!
Simon
Because they have been checked lots of times before production and are 100% ok
edit: ah I see you posted quickly lol

I forced caps in with incompatible terminals, after using snips to make the ends smaller. I've flexed these a few times and probably done other unnecessarily potentially harmful abuse. The boards are like rock!

There are some that break everything, and some that fix everything... 😀
BTW, Ricardo, your +/-15V supply will work fine on the discrete PCB. I will simulate with this supply voltage just to be sure, and let you know if small adjustments have to be made.

I have obtained a piccy of Simons decoder chip that reveals the extent of the damage.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I'm using +-15V SPowers with no problems, works a treat.
