CD63 class A oputput
Some time ago I saw a post relating to making the output on a Marantz CD63 classs A, after changing the output ICs and adding a resistor (or two?) to alter the bias.
Try as I may, I can't find that link. Can you help?😕

Hi Brent, you are welcome. Famous curry and laksa, anyone? Sorry been busy. Got some oscons for Q105/106 and DAC VddD. If fossil2K is keen we can group-order from Sercal, saving in shipping cost. Maybe a clock, etc.

I'm thinking of trying a headphone amp or pre-amp from one of these Chinese cowboys.

Hi Simon,
I built one of these, good fun and not too expensive. Only problem is that it set me off on the amp upgrade mountain to try to get similar sound from a full scale system (that's when it became expensive!)

Hopelessly off-topic
Hi Pete,
I read loads of this with great interest until I saw that because of the elaborate grounding arrangement it won't work as a preamp.
The Meta 42 will, however...

Evening..
I have just made a shielding between analog and digital section.
The Flea which supplies the analog section of the DAC has moved to the analog section.
The shield is tagged to the main board ground plane.
The analog ground has NO connection to the digital one. The only place analog and digital meets is through the DAC.
Sorry for the tiny picture, but it's a ... to squeeze it under 100k.

Clock
Hi
Very puzzled about clocks:
This one from Ray uses a dedicated sreg to power the stock crystal oscilator, a jfet and a opamp to produce a square signal......
http://home.quicknet.nl/qn/prive/ra.vdsteen/pdfs/CD_clock.pdf
This one uses a special sreg to power an integrated oscilator.. the XO:
http://www.acoustica.org.uk/flea_manual.pdf
The difference in concept is so uge I can not grasp it at a glance.
Some enlightening would be benefitial here....
Can someone point me in the right direction ?
