ermm my CD63 have new problem when i on my CDP the tray eject itself and i hear the motor spin itself i tot clock problem i put back the original same problem i enter service mode is say Error 02 focus error 🙁 dunno is the loader problem or SERVO controller
That is seriously cool Glenn! I think the most exciting modifications are the ones that take a cr@p sounding POS and turn it into a thing of audiophile beauty. Great work.

If the tray ejects then the mech switch is not being activated or there is a break in the line to and from it.
Go to connector JM02 and test continuity between TRSW and GND. Have no power on and manualy eject and close the tray.

Indeed - very satisfying. It can pick up shares and uPNP from your network - WAVs now sound like a half-decent CDP. It sounds very musical and is still very enjoyable with 128k WMA stations (XFM etc) , which I wasn't expecting.
By the way, whilst I was in the firmware... couldn't resist...
(p.s. my surname is Sumpter...)

Brilliant project Glenn.

Do one for Simon that says 'wrecked by Simon' and post pic. 😀

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

even i cant manual push inthe tray it will keep eject and the cd spinner keep spinning .... ermm headache nvm i try to swap the loader n see thanks
You need to test it with the power off.
Also if the spindle motor is spinning then it is possible you have a missing voltage rail. Check your fuses and check the +/- 10V. If your display works then I would assume the -10V is missing.

ermm i just swap the loader same thing happen 🙁 my display is working fine fuses also working find
where is the -10v wut i know only got +/- 12 and +/- 5v sorry abit noob
L700:
I think the problem could be QM01 (TCA 0372) or it's supply. I had similar symptoms except tray motor was pulling the tray in.
Measure QM01 pin 2 for supply voltage and test resistor R164 which was "blown" in my case..

QM01 (TCA0372) pin 2 is at 11.**V & Resistor R164 is working fine... haiz...
ahiukka said:You could measure QM01 pins 9-16, they should be around -12V.

i just measure is only +/- -9v haiz headache 🙁
They are only around 12v unloaded - if your motors are turning (and meeting some resistance such as tray already fully extended) they would drop to about 9v anyway.
They are not regulated.
Check 2.5V on pin6 of QM01. Easiest to check at junction of R161 and R162. Should be 5V at one end of R161 and 2.5v at the other end.

ok thanks later i go to try it

Once I had a similar problem in the drivers, due to a bad resistor that measured ok.
The CDP could not read discs and after some insistance one of the drivers started to heat up.
Verify if any of the drivers is heating.

ermm mine abit different i test my loader at another player working fine my tray keep eject and the motor keep spinning even i manually push in the tray and it keep eject 🙁 even my CD spinner also keep spinning
RCruz said:Measure the eject button in the player... maybe it is shorted.
tonite i try really thanks hope not throw my CD63 to dustbin 🙁 got feeling one
