Hi ... does anyone have a copy of the original Praying Mantis tonearm?
Lost mine long ago. It might be time for a 2023 upgrade after 45 years. Linears have short arms, could work again. I've built two in the past, but were too flimsy.

Thx, this could have been his second version. Good keeper, though.
I'm a no sketcher, but hope you get the idea. Long cantilever in middle only moves laterally. He used needles (if I rem) as bearings. Each end was connected by a string. In a popular hi fi magazine at the time (1978).

Mem is good enough to make new ones, just wanted the orig for show and tell. Still it might work well today. Advantages (and bad, also) over regular and linear tonearms. Sure would like someone to try, especially those with test gear. If anyone is interested I could share what I know.

Thanks, but I have it, no need to bother... I managed to extract pages from magazine so if someone else needs it...
Good! Just thought you may not even want.
Pretty crude as I read and remember, but did work. Anxious to try my version, but will not start a thread on it. That's way too time consuming. Too many projects going on, but thanks again for helping me find.
