Well it’s been a while. I’m continuing to enjoy these speakers very much. I recently re-built my “Wiener” TPA3118 amp (GMarsh, 2017) by installing it in a new aluminum amp chassis with a good quality Omron 24V SMPS. I’m glad to say it sounds very, very good with the Maeshowes and will do very well as my “summer amp” (it generates virtually no heat at all).

The Maeshowes need to be finished such that they look as good as they sound. I haven’t quite decided what to do yet. I found some beautiful peel n’ stick veneer that I really like but it isn’t cheap. The cheaper options will be harder to work with and less aesthetically pleasing.

Besides sanding/staining/clear coat or good ol’ paint, are there other options I’m not thinking of? They are just raw plywood currently.
