I was noticing the capacitors in parallel with the diodes in the bridge. What is the purpose of this?
quiets the switching on the diodes. Some diodes are noisy, some are not, but this makes it so you can use billy bobs 400amp dont-remember-much-about-them that cost a penny and they will make as much noise as the $3 each stealth diodes.
A better idea is to use a cap and resistor in the secondary before the bridge. Its above me to calc what the caps need to be for the diodes, or the rc filter for the secondary.
Most people just use a .1uf across each diode and call it done.

this one uses it after the filtering.
