Guys, I am on vacation from this Sunday, and 8 days onwards😀
Going to Samos in the Greek part of the Mediterranian😀
Keep your orders comming anyways! I have ordered a limited supply from the US (Grey!) If you want Lovoltech's, now is the time to order!! I cant blame you if you do want some, the ZenV9 is a stunning amp and the headphone amp of EUVL's is even greater!! Have a peek: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1130743#post1130743
I am in the process of building the final headphone amp! It will have a 225VA trafo and 44.000uF caps for starters and a capacitance multiplier after the big cap-bank! I am sure that will make for a totally quiet headphone amp. There is no use, whatsoever for hum in a headphoneamp!! I will post the schematic of the psu later!! Just want to test it first.

Steen🙂

Matched JFETs

I don't know when I will get around to doing something with these, but I think I need 20 matched JFETs. I built a Pass Pearl with a bunch of little JFETs which sounds pretty good - the big ones have got to sound magnificent !! (The damn G-S-D schematic even looks like a triode Grid-Cathode-Anode arrangement.....I guess arranging the fields physically right is more important than the medium the electrons burrow through ?!).

I just need enough power to drive the top half of a Vandersteen Quatro, (50-75 watts). I've seen Nelson's V8 and V9 single-ended, single device circuits, but I'm curious as to how you can gang these up so they produce more than 10-15 wattts ? Do they current hog like bi-polars, or can you use one constant current source for multiple devices in parallel ?

E-mail address is: dcbingaman@earthlink.net Let me know how you want to settle up !!

I'm not sure why...phase of the moon, perhaps...but I've had quite a few orders recently from people who want unmatched devices.
Reminder: There are no more unmatched devices. Haven't been for a year or more.

IMPORTANT*****IMPORTANT*****IMPORTANT*****IMPORTANT

I'm getting to the point where I'm either going to have to reorder devices or get out of the game for a while. Given that my writing career (don't laugh, dammit) has pretty much been on hold while I've been doing this, I need to put some words down on paper and attempt to get paid for it. I knew that it would be one or the other for the duration of the JFET gig, and for the last eighteen months or so it's been the one. Now it's time for the other. Double Dead and Super Gyro were written before the JFETs came in, although they saw print afterwards--that's just the way the publishing field works--but I really need to do some writing, as sending out JFETs isn't particularly fulfilling in the creative sense. Actually, it's more like a job, in the PIA sense.
(Gawd, the stories I could tell...but won't...names and incidents withheld to protect the guilty...)
I may decide to ante up for another round at some point in the future...or I may not. Either way, I need to take a break.
So, with that in mind:

IF YOU WANT JFETs, GET YOUR ORDERS IN SOON. ONCE THEY'RE GONE, THEY'RE GONE, AND UNLESS SOMEONE ELSE DECIDES TO PONY UP A FEW THOUSAND OUT OF POCKET TO DO ANOTHER BUY, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET THEM AT ALL.

DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU.

Grey

P.S.: If you placed an order and didn't pay up--tough. I didn't reserve your parts. I sent them to someone who did pay. They're gone.
Don't even ask.
Or beg.
And for cryin' out loud, don't whine.
P.P.S.: If I sound grumbly, it's cuz the four year-old is sick (major fever) and I lost one of my bee hives and I've got to do some more plumbing (and if you knew how much I hate plumbing...) and...oh, never mind. Actually, most folks have been very polite and pleasant to deal with as far as JFETs go. There've only been a handful of people that tempted me to stick pins in Voodoo dolls.

Hey, you!
Yeah, you!
You know that stitch in your side? The one that feels like someone slipped a red hot needle between your ribs?
Now you know why.
