Please recommend a sweet sounding class d amp with balanced/differential input for my ESS AMT-1 (4 Ohms, 100 db/1 W) tweeters. Thank you!
You probably by default won't find in class D what most consider sweet sounding. They usually are not colored imo, but you can make them "sweeter" by utilizing tailored input stage. I use purifi 1et400a, and they are the most musical class d i've had. But i did use for a while b1k nutube and skipped opa buffer om eval input. There are also purifi amps with nutube input buffers, i belive atm audio.

The TPA3110 is differential input but the negative input on the board is grounded. You need to cut the track and input on the input capacitor.
ClassD might be a bit high on output hiss for a 100dB/W tweeter. I'd recommend TDA1566 in 16dB gain mode but its classAB. Much lower noise than any classD chipamp I've come across.
fix it for youTPA3110 has only 65uv noise. I am using it with 106db speaker with no any issue.
Gentlemen, thank you very much for the suggestions!
My motivation is simply to try something out. I have plenty of suitable amplifiers, from various LM3875 composite amplifiers up to a balanced Pass F4 clone.
In this case I don't need more than 2 watts per channel and I like the idea of providing this tiny power as efficiently as possible. If I don't like the result, I just try something else. Fun experimenting, like decades ago with my first Gainclone ...

You can convert this amp into ABD mod by adding a resistor and get smoother high frequencies. The $1 costing TPA3110 is similar but in PBTL and no connectors.
At which point should the resistor be inserted - output to ground? Before or after the choke? What value should the resistor have? What is the purpose or effect of the resistor?

After the inductors there are capacitors that join to be grounded. Instead of grounding directly to get grounded via a resistor. If your supply is 24v you need 2x 220ohm 2W in parallel. If it is 18v single 2W 100 ohm will do. If there are other RC grounding snubbers, cut the tracks to cancel them.

Look if you can cut the tracks to isolate the outputs of the inductors. You need to buy good quality capacitors 670nF x4. First listen the sound as it is, may be it may suit you.
GroundLoops: any chance you can share with me the Marantz HD-DAC1 service manual please? Many thanks in advance
