That was the idea. Pay either straight cash or pay in parts. I know it takes time to build these things or they wouldnt cost 2k for 2 x 8 watts. But i have given up on that route. I am going to stick with solid state since i know i cant build the amps i want and cant afford prebuilt period. Not for the power/quality i need/want.

have you thought about a gainclone style amp? You could get the power you said you wanted a few posts back quite easily.. and they're cheap and easy to build... I could do a gaincone or two for you 🙂
Which circuit is the gainclone ? As cool as chip amps look being all tiny and what not. I cant see it having good quality sound. Or at least better then this 'classic' pioneer amp i have 😉 If it is Mosfet output amp then lets talk 🙂 If its IC i dont think i will like it much 🙁
