Looking for a large woofer 2 way (no horns)

That was my 1st thot when i saw the thread title.

Consider it an evolution of the Dyanco A25.

Scott & i did a modern TL tribute to the classic Radford/IMFs specifically for this kit.

This might be a winner.

The Scan 10F used is really a midrange, very smooth but no bottom and weak top. There is a cheaper one (i have not heard it thou) that looks better on paper.

I am a big fan of WAW (Scott & i are working together on another right now), my goto midTweeters are Mark Audio Alpair 5.2/7.3/7ms, and Fostex FF85wk.

We have done a number of variations and now have 2 out with passive XOs. None have big woofers, but both use a pair (6.5” in one, 5: in the other).

I only asked because in the fast thread I saw a few Fullranges talked about but it seem to have stopped on the 10f.

What about an array of full ranges and a 12 below it? 3 or 4 3FE25/4FE35’s should give you some decent output.

What’s the budget?
I would like to be about 5 or 6 hundred.
As far as that array design point me to a build of one.

Now I have a few drivers laying around. I was wondering how a R2604/8320 and a D2604/833000 would compare to the Seas Excel T35C-002?

I was planning on trying out these 8mb400 with one of those tweeter. This separate for the project in the original post. Just cooking something up with ingredients in the house.

okay, so you still have the option of a PA woofer(s), coupled with FR driver(s) in place of horns.
Is this for inside or out? That makes a big difference in both box size and drivers.
What is the limit on the budget?
What is the max box size? Remember what one person thinks is big is not in another's mind.

WAWs have seen little development yet, we have done a number and encourgae people to explore them -- they have hige potential.

We have used Fostex FF85k (NLA), its replacement FF85wk, Alpair 7.3 with a variety of woofers. 2 have made it to the paid planset stage. And a number more on paper.

(this one was a one off)

Scott & i are currently working on a versatile design suitable for ue with Alpair 5.2/3, A7.3/ms, Pluvia 7HD, and Alpair 10p. With the next one queuing up.

With the huge number of midbasses aimed at typical MT systems, there are so many possibilities.

Budget about 600$
20 wide 30 to 40 tall 20 deep.
It’s for my studio so it’s inside.
I want it for play back. Clients love it loud and I don’t want them pushing my high monitors.

Here here!

How loud, how low, how big, how expensive?

How about a pair of the big ESS Heil tweeters with a pro 12" woofer for high efficiency and punch? The Heils are quite a bit cheaper than the Seas tweeters referenced earlier. Faital Pro 12PR320, active xover @ 1k should work well. Or go deeper but not as loud with a 10" or 12" Peerless SLS woofer as used in the Tarkus?

I second that recommendation 100%!
Beyma 12 inch LOUDSPEAKER 12"P80/Fe V2 8 OH
Plus ESS... Crossover around 1KHz... depending on SPL's required and crossover slopes.
The Beyma sounds amazing in small sealed box with DSP to Eq.
