Lightspeed Attenuator a new passive preamp

Nice!

Just to be sure. Will they work in the mono set up. I mean input to the middle “pin”, output to the left and right “pins”?

How do i make sure, that the ones i get, are all grade A ?
If you want the ones that are going to give you a closer match with less left overs (waist), you need to hunt down the NSL32SR2S (the 'S" on the end stands for selected) you still have to mach them up, they cost more but you 'll need far less of them to get the matched sets, and you'll get a lower minimum volume from the "S" ones as they have a lower min impedance.

Hello everyone!
I bought 2 kits from Uriah 10 yers ago! First one no problem, the latter began to fail at the end of 2021, being in use from 2016. 250k dual pot to have an average of 20k input impedance, schematics as George suggests. Sometimes a channel goes full loud, i thought it was the pot so i changed but no solution and it does strange things. Maybe one or more ldrs are gone...
Udailey or others, do you sell kits nowadays? I don't want to come back to standard volume pots, please help!
Cheers,
Giovanni
Same here… bought a set of matched LDR’s in 2011 or so. In 2012 I discovered the LDR’s weren’t matched… not sure if this was out of the box or happened later. By the way I completely forgot that I had already discovered this problem in 2012 already, even emailed Uriah about back then (no response).

Anyway after long hiatus I would now like to sort this out, so looking to replace the LDR’s. Is it me or have they become absurdly expensive? Looking at 3 euro’s a piece for the non-selected version, so probably need a fair number of them to find a matched quad (30? 50?)…

If anyone has matched quads available I’m all ears…

I bought a kit from him several years ago that I never built. Let me dig it out and I’ll post what I have

He never used the NSL32SR2S (sorted) just the NSL32SR2, (or NSL32SR3 which will never work as I intended them to), he was a copier and called it his own, bad grapes, yeah you bet ya!!!
Another one was this BS opamp he sold with this transistor (what is basically now a diode) in the voltage rails

Cheers George

Can't seem to find "S" grade in Europe... feels wrong to buy 25 NSL32SR2 (EUR 54 at Mouser) just to throw away 21...
