I've been searching this forum for days and still unable to find any mention of the problem im having.
I recently picked up a free 3m 9550 OHP,
The problem im having is it seems there is something wrong with the lens on the head of the projector... all I get projected onto the wall is a small spot of light??? (dosent seem to make much different if i turn the varifocal lens from left to right either)
Is anyone familiar with this problem? I'm confident the problem isnt with the projector itself (bulb, reflector, mirror in base of the unit all seem to be working properly) as it projects a very large square onto my roof (see pic)

Your light in some way is not concentrated onto the mirror. It almost looks like your missing your fresnell, but is dat possible. Or the head is not alligned with the center of the fresnel.
From the picture, it looks like you dont have a fresnel lens in the OHP. It should be right under the glass.

Can you see the "guts" through the glass?
Post a top-down picture like Doughboy said, and we can tell for sure.

i own a 9550. just take a look at the glass stage and tell
us if the fresnel lens is in there. looks like it's missing.

Hi guys,
It appeas you are all right. The OHP is missing its fresnel lens.
In my haste as a newbie to this hobby, ive overlooked a vital component that is obviously missing. Im going to try and source another fresnel from a projector at work, posssibly even scoring another entire projector setup.
