I had the pleasure of viewing & a short listen to the shinobiwan's creation on Friday night & the pictures don't even start to prepare you for his vision, craftsmanship & the naturalness of this speaker. Only heard one & in a small room but with the volume down & a less than perfect av amp, it takes your breath away.
We have to find a way to persuade him to bring the finished pair to the next UK diyaudio meet.
This creation would be a lifetimes committment & dream for most of us.

Sorry for the late reply Tim, its been a hectic past couple of weeks.

Its always a pleasure to speak with you Tim and with that sort of praise your welcome here anytime! 😀

Still looking for amps. Pinkmouse kindly lent me his Symasym to test out for a short while and I have to say its a great little amp.

Most noticeable thing about this design is the almost complete lack of distortion giving everything you put through it an easy going natural nature with no emphasis on any particular frequencies, it reminds me of the GB150 - another nice amp. Its a very well integrated sound with great cohesiveness bringing together everything nicely.

Absolutely nothing to criticise... no, really. I like this amp a lot, everything sounds good.

Hi Ant,
I have the same problem (though mine is that I'm too lazy/scared to finish them).
Arrows point to the gaping hole where the active amp are supposed to be. I sold out and built passive crossovers so I could use the speakers.

Yeah, I know, another shinty picture.

Will you guys stop posting that picture with my amp all dusty! It makes me feel embarrassed...

😀

Yeah I was showing some folks the amp and the first thing they spotted was all dust. I think it was something along the lines of "Couldn't he be bothered to wipe the top before sending it?".

I showed them a picture of you at the DIYfest and they quickly understood.

😀 :clown:
