Also Hans, and all: Please forgive my neophyte ignorance. If cost consideration is removed, would it not sonically be far better to place all power supply components in the amp in a large outboard chassis, maximally shielded with all isolation from audio signal path possible, a higher s/n ratio, and with much larger custom toroidal, as quiet and high quality, etc, as possible, absolute largest highest quality absolute capacitors made,
Direct mains connection at 240v like Krell Relentless? And do any mains or other regeneration or higher quality purist approach to clean the brick wall regulated power supply, clean it up by highest end design possible, and massively increase the power supply simultaneously…? I think this should be possible in a one off too expensive for consumer production amp, but I want to as wild as $ allow to highest end with high yield quality returns…. silver, gold pcbs? All silver or gold plated silver internal wiring? All silver buss bars or silver bars heavy gold plated? Is gold playing not beneficial or are undesirable skin and conductivity effect creates?If I were German I am thinking

The 2400watt into 1R that the 33’s power supply can deliver with capacitors totalling 0.5 Farad and two 2.4KWatt toroids in the same cabinet as the amp is more than gigantic.
Putting the supply in an external cabinet might cause many additional problems to be solved and doesn’t seem to me the best road to follow.
But since you seemingly want to go a long way, why don’t you buy a ML33, analyse all bits and parts, copy what you like and take a different route for things you want to change and after having done all that, resell the ML33 and start making your version of a super amp.
That would be a fantastic challenge for your students.

Can you get a broken ML-No.33 Mono blocks and rebuild with all new parts like i helped Alanrainbow ML-33 repair in 2019.Even Nelson Pass said in a forum he cannot repair a ML-33 with out factory help. the ML-33 and 33H service manual is all PDFS. ML-33 uses 1 million in UF in capacitance with 24 caps. about $10000 i total for parts in 2019. Read the forum.

What's the goal of your project - learning about this great amplifier technology or just building one of the best amps available?
If you "just" want a REALLY good amplifier - I would suggest to have a listening comparison to a more "modern" design. Like Benchmark AHB2 or Purify/Hypex powered amp. These amps solve many issues which where fighted with "material battle" in older designs more elegant. Like a clean power supply.
But of course it's a great project to rebuild a ML-33! A lot of stuff is going into the extreme with this design.
I personally would be more interested in an AHB2 on stereoids - that would be a cool and unique amp ;-)
p.s.: I hope you use the same efforts for your room acoustics in your listening room as in building these amps ;-)

There is no single schematic for the Audio Palette. There are schematics for the individual boards and some "to-from" wire lists. Cello (and ML) documentation was design for building the units.

While I am an utter diy neophyte, my listening skills are not. By way of biases, I don’t like them Sam I am, I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not want any amp with a “modern” switching power supply. I find digital music neurologically harmful to me and my patients. I treat Parkinson’s and other patients with dedicated analog music therapy; the neurological tremendous benefits are well documented worldwide. Digital listening is not even 50 percent as beneficial as analog. This not a debate, purely imho borne out by my listening, and is not an issue nor a criticism of others source choices. Please grant me a few biases. I listen to reel to reel and LP exclusively. Given the evidence based well known data and all the oromulgators of theoretically state of the art power supplies. would it be heresy to:
Remove evey bit of the power supply, creating externalization it to an outboard chassis and redesign to state of the art, increase its capacity and devote up to the volume of another complete amps real estate if needed to that effort? Another bias… I have over 112 hours listening to the ml 33 in a reference system, by way of example11 hours in the same system with a solution 701. I do not like it Sam I am. I believe there are some powerfully beneficial aspects of the basic ml 33 sound that work musically for me. Would this not resolve in a fell swoop power supply compromise?

A BASIC experiment with following BASIC experience - I hope:
Connect 'double-mono-psus', 'channel-separate-psus' together. Connected and not connected WILL sound different! Why;-?!
After the clarification of the "why", a Reference 33 - among all the other highly complex pp-amplifiers - is tossed into the trash can;-)
